Okay...it all makes sense now. I was trying to figure all this bitterness towards Ron Ron. Now I get it. |
Nope. Not a bitter Ariza fan. i was actually really stoked when we got Artest. But he has just majorly disappointed. He has had maybe a total of 7 good games as a laker.
You can replace him with a bunch of SFs and we'd be a better team. I just said Ariza because that's who we already had. |

Cool. Thanks for explaining. I am glad they calculate defense into those numbers! |
+/- is an extremely simple stat.
All it is "How many points are scored/lost while Player X is on the court".
So Ron's +27 means the Lakers scored 27 more points than the Warriors when he was on the court.
Pau's +33 means that the Lakers scored +33 more points than the Warriors when he was on the court.
David Lee's -26 means the Warriors were outscored by 26 points when he was on the court.
So in a roundabout way, it accounts for both offense and defense. |

Nope. Like I said, i was stoked when we first got Ron. I thought we were much better off. I didn't know he was this bad where he can't throw a pea into the ocean, isn't smart enough to pick up the offense, makes bonehead plays at the end of big games, and can't even do a better job defensively on Pierce than Radmanovich. |

Artest could care less about his offensive production as long as the Lakers win the game. Artest is the 4th option on offense right now behind Kobe, Pau and Odom and when Bynum comes back he will be the 5th offensive option. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

He should care if he's making wide open shots and layups. We count on him to space the floor and make teams pay for paying so much attention to Kobe and Pau.
No one is asking him to create offense. But he has to knock down wide open 3s and make layups off cuts or else he is a major liability. |

No, you have not. It is conjecture and certainly hyperbole, but pretty much "fact" free.
Saying that without Artest the Lakes would have swept OKC and PHX and beaten Boston in five is simply crazy talk, with no basis in anything except your negative opinion on Ron. _________________ M. Hicks

I can't tell if your trolling or just an Artest hater. Chill out. We won the game by 24 points! Artest is also taking the toughest defensive assignments guarding Kevin Martin and Monte Ellis until Kobe's knee gets stronger. Artest's offense will come around. Artest should be the least of your problems right now. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

You cannot honestly sit here and say that PP was more effective in 2010 than he was in 2008. He had 2 20+ point games out of 7. That was Ron Ron. And believe me, any shooting issues PP had in 2008 had absolutely NOTHING to do with VladRad. For you to even suggest that...wow. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

The best perimeter defender in the league and a 15 ppg career scorer is hot garbage?
For the love of God it's game 3. |
LMAO at best perimeter defender in the league. |
He is without a doubt.
Not one other player would shut down Durant down like Artsst dude.
LMAO @ you (bleep) about Ron's offense when it's been three (bleep) games.
Also LOL @ you saying Artest's game winners vs Suns and Celtics don't mean (bleep).
Newsflash we wouldn't have won it all without Artest and his game winners and defense.
Ron Artest is an allstar, a top 10 SF and argurably top 5. To say he's hit garbage is just idiotic. |
We would have swept OKC and PHX and beaten Boston in 5 if we had Ariza. Artest only bailed himself out against Phx and boston. His idiotic 3 against Phx put us in the situation to need a game winner in the first place and he cost us games 2 and 5 against Boston. He almost cost us game4 against Utah with that horrific inbounds pass.
He made our defense slightly better but completely ruined our offense. Tradeoff not worth it.
All-star? LMFAO! |
defense win champions and that why Ron is a asset to the team |
Uhh no......defense and offense wins championships. Do you see Charlotte in the Finals? No. Do you see the warriors in the Finals? No. You need both.
Artest made our defense slightly better but made our offense horribly worse. We were a great defensive team and a great offensive team in 09. In 10, we were a great defensive team and a mediocre offensive team. |
This is beyond silly.
I don't give a **** how beautiful your offense looks, Boston reduces you to a grind it out series.
Lakers O in '08 got ground to a nub.
Artest set the tone for the series. He let it be known, right from the start, that not only were the Lakers physical and mean enough, they were the aggressor. From the take down of Pierce, to the well placed knee to a red hot Allen's thigh, to an "accidental" bust of Rondo's chops, to the battles beneath the board. Artest WAS the definition of that series.
L.A. beat Boston at it's own game. They out lunch pailed 'em, out physical'd 'em, and out grinded 'em. If you think switching Artest with "any old decent SF" would have yielded the same result... well, troll or seriously off the mark, take your choice. |

We needed boston to lose their starting center to beat them. And even then were were down 15 in game 7. LMAO at us being the aggressor.
Lakers offense in 08 struggled because we only had Pau for a month. We couldn't go deep into the triangle at all. And to top it off, Kobe hadn't made a man out of Pau yet. He was still a soft pansy. As was odom. |
