A few weeks ago, after Odom put up one of his usual double-doubles in a one-point loss to the Celtics, Wade sent out this tweet: "Love watchn Lamar odom play the guy is one of the best all around players our game has seen and he does it smoove."
If Miami would have stolen Lamar from L.A., he would have instantly become the Heat's second best player. On some nights, he's not even L.A.'s fourth best player.

JUST-MING wrote: | League office scheduled Derrick Stafford, notorious Kobe-hater referee, to work today's game. |
Here is an excerpt of the shady Stafford, from Tim Donaghys book:
Quote: | Madison Square Garden was the place to be for a marquee matchup between the Miami Heat and New York Knicks. I worked the game with Derrick Stafford and Gary Zielinski, knowing that the Knicks were a sure bet to get favorable treatment that night. Derrick Stafford had a close relationship with Knicks coach Isiah Thomas, and he despised Heat coach Pat Riley. I picked the Knicks without batting an eye and settled in for a roller-coaster ride on the court.
During pregame warm-ups, Shaquille O'Neal approached Stafford and asked him to let some air out of the ball.
"Is this the game ball?" O'Neal asked. "It's too hard. C'mon, D, let a little air out of it."
Stafford then summoned one of the ball boys, asked for an air needle, and let some air out of the ball, getting a big wink and a smile from O'Neal.

Floyd Mayweather just said on BSPN radio that he's got $20,000 on the Lakers first half.
He also said that he's the best there ever was to put on boxing gloves including Ali. _________________ And always remember my brother, one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, knick knack, paddy whack, give a dog a bone, two thousand, zero, zero, party, oops out of time. Watch the calls tonight in particular. I will bet the FARM that Kobe is going to be royally screwed.
The fact that so many of us on LG who follow Stafford can predict this exact behavior is ridiculous. |

Stafford's refereeing? No FTs for Kobe tonight after getting 15 against the Pacers. In fact, he'll probably get 15 combined during this 4 game roadie. |

We'll see how much it's still affecting them based on how they play tonight. |

The NBA's approach to the refs is comical and bears much in common with an ostrich who hides their heads in the ground.
Sterns head is so far up his arse that it is totally obvious to everyone but the man who is in the dark alone.
Why he continues to screw the game up with his "look the other way" approach to lousy officiating is amazing to me.
Eventually he will alienate everyone who was ever a fan of this game. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

well seeing how he has gone 5-14 and 3-17 in his last two games that prediction could prove to be true with any referee on the court tonight.
but I pick tonights game as Kobe's "break out" game as far as the shooting slump is concerned. |

The 'turn the other cheek' policy the NBA has adapted regarding officials does the game no good. The league leaves the players in the dark, they're not allowed to even criticize them. So the people who are to be blamed for bad officiating are the ones who regulate it. That's a problem.
No doubt tonight will reek of officiating bias. Whether or not there's a conspiracy is debateable, but certain trends of favortism from officials like Stafford is obvious. |
