Unbelievable that Kobe sits out the whole week and Lakers don't lose a game |

The change is obvious, as LO goes so goes the team.
Andrew needs to ride the bench until further notice. |
Or when the big's gets the ball and opportunities (inside - out) the team plays better.
At the end of the day Drew gets around 25 minutes a game. His whooping 10 shots per game isn't that back breaking.
It is the other guy that is out that often goes vortex that abandons the triangle and shoots double the shots of the second best player. |

Huge games from Pau and LO. Farmar has been terrific these past 3 games. |

One of the best wins this season no doubt. I'm not going to lie, watching these last few games w/o Kobe and Bynum have been great. The way we run the offensive, working through Pau, LO's aggression, seeing the bench step up big time. Stuff you wouldn't see on a regular basis. What a great way to close out the first half of the season |

it's funny how teams are officiated differently when they are injured
in portland and now utah the refs didn't allow the home team to get away with manslaughter like usual. |

It is the amount of shots with Bynum, it is the lack of ball movement and passing.
Throw in his lack of defensive effort and it is pretty obvious the team is more efficient with LO playing and Bynum not playing. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I'm a big believer in both Kobe and Drew, but I'm almost perplexed at how good and how dominant this team is right now. The Lakers looked semi-awful late January, but the win AT Portland was a shocker, the SAS game I thought sure would be a letdown, total beat-down. Now we break a 9-game win streak in Utah!
Lamar, Pau, Jordan... wow!!!!
Rotations? Adrenaline? Or waffles and fried chicken??? |

Haha, this is the third straight game I thought the Lakers would lose.
I have been so pleasantly surprised. They've blown out each team lol. |

Bynum just needs the bench again, seriously...let him pout and play from there.. I mean anyone notice how his production dipped after the All Star selection? Dude has an agenda and it was not about the Team... sheeh.. _________________ New Beginings |

I need to post more in the game thread. I remember some good times even dating back to the 'Big 4' days. Great win. Awesome team win. Definitely proud of the guys. Hope we can keep it rolling. |

Amazing things happen when you play as a TEAM! Kobe should be looking at this and saying to himself, maybe I should rest more. |

I'm not saying Drew has no effect because on some nights he does.
Just the same I see Lamar standing at the 3 point line, Pau cleared out on the opposite side of the court, while Kobe goes iso way too much this season.
Kobe has been playing and forcing his offense as if this team absolutely must have him scoring 30 a night to win which is not the case.
These last 3 games the ball has been moving because hell there is about 32 more shots per game available. You don't have guys questioning whether to pass in fear of never getting the ball again. |

I just dont agree with this, i agree with some of the analysts. I think the team plays with a sense of urgency out there because they are afraid of looking like scrubs - Kobe out there. They needed this to remember they made it to the NBA for a reason. The bigger picture here i think is that big drew is not clogging up the lane. I love Drew's game and do NOT want him traded....but the tri is an inside out offense. A good starting center running the tri can conceivably lead the league in assists at the position. The problem right now is that 90% of the time when we pass it to Drew in the post, hes not gettin rid of the ball. Its score or dont score.
I think this team is guilty of not moving on offense....and that isnt Kobe's fault. These guys without KB24 in the game HAVE to run the tri to score. When KB24 comes back lets just hope they remember to keep doin that instead of staring in awe when he has the ball like the rest of us do.
One other thing before i cut this off....you also realize that jellybean gets absolutely no love from the referees? That doesnt just kill his stats, but it kills the team as a whole. Hypothetical situation Kobe makes a post entry pass to pau and runs a cut to the hoop where he receives the ball gets hacked and misses or turns it over. We all scold him for being a ballhog and being washed up, etc. Now Kobe goes down and whoever else is in the game goes to the free throw line and we are all singing the teams praises. I hate to bring officiating into this, but if these games were played with KB and officiated in the same manner, i think youd see the same result if not even more lopsided victories. |
