Shaq only can do that against stiffs like Todd Mcahoaukldjklaw, broke ass Rik Smits with 2 bad wheels, and a 50 yr old Deke.

Don't feel bad TEEGUNN. I had Dallas losing tonight, but winning in 6.

May have to change that to 5 with tonight's win.

Naw, if Dallas lost tonight, they would have lost the series. Game 1 is usually a must-win for the home team so the pressure is on the road team for Game 2.

Watching Shaq lose makes today one of the happiest days of my life(as far as basketball is concerned) this and the Lakers winning 3 in a row..Maybe if Shaq had actually shown some respect for the organization that made him famous and gave him enough money to buy all those diamond shaped houses then I might have actually rooted for him..but all he does is talk garbage..he makes me sick and watching him lose brings me SO much joy!!

They talked about how Shaq-led teams are undefeated when winning the first game of a playoff series. Shaq-led teams are also 4-9 when losing the first game of a series. The 4 series wins are 1998 vs Seattle, 2001 vs Philly, 2004 vs San Antonio, and 2006 vs New Jersey.

No matter how many times I see it/hear it (and it's been a bunch of times) "broke ass Rik Smits" never fails to make me laugh.

That's being a little overzealous, MB. You gotta at least give the Heat a couple of wins.

he looks like crap without kobe. kobes game compliments him perfectly. because kobe is a jump shooter. ten times better jump shooter than wade.

so while wade is good, kobes game jives well. his jumper, and shaqs inside game.

sheesh, these guys blew that one. anyway, lets not reash the past.

im glad shaq aint winnin. i want all the media to say, that without the LAKER organization . . . riley, shaq, etc. aint winnin jack.

Dirk did not have a good game today and yet the Mavs are up...they have so much talent and depth

Good point. He has still played hard, but not at that same insane level (I think he is the best player this year in the playoffs) that he has been.

That Dallas can still win without a huge night from their franchise guy speaks volumes.

Not to mention a bad night from their 2nd best players in these playoffs, Josh Howard who was a bricklayer from the perimeter and had 5 turnovers.

Miami could have stole this game, but they blew it. Dallas's depth IMO will be the difference.

Wade - 28 points on 25 shots (no one in the media crying of what a ball hog is he).
Snaq - 7 rebounds - how does a big fat tub of lard like this not get 10 per game by accident?
Payton: a 2004 Laker like performance.

Ahh, what a great night.

Gah! I missed the game. I really wanted to see the Heat lose. Big ups and props to Mavs and co. Sounds like Terry was a beast tonight.

If someone can answer something for me I'd be much obliged.

Did the Mavs run alot of pick & rolls?

Shaq: 11 shot attempts
Walker: 19 shot attempts

Is that why Shaq thinks Pat Riley is the best coach he's ever had? Cause he doesn't have to shoot as much?

I enjoyed watching it too, and I hope Dallas kicks Miami's ass. But it was, after all, only Game 1. Lots of basketball left to be played.

One thing I did not like from a Mavs standpoint...Miami's defense was making life a little bit tough on the Mavs. If Jason Terry doesn't step up huge in his first NBA Finals game...well, let's not go there!

Miami imploded from the free throw line. It's amazing to me how it's no big deal when Shaq, Mr. MDE, Mr. Great Guy, Mr. Team Leader, goes into an NBA Finals game and shoots 11% from the free throw line!!!! That's OK, tell another joke, ha ha ha, "I always make 'em when I need to". I guess his media pals will be busy manufacturing excuses for him over the next couple of days...

Dallas needs to keep the pressure on and win Game 2. Those middle three in Miami probably ain't gonna be fun.

Shaq led team? He got 11 shot attempts compare to Wade 19. If it was Kobe, Shaq would blame him and everyone else on a team for not giving him the ball.
