I hope Lin drops 30 tomorrow even if it's just preseason.

I think it is the right thing to do .. to give the starting position to Nash... until it is proven that Lin would be better as the starting PG. It's about setting a tone for the team, for me, in part. I like it even though I ]like Lin and hope for him to find a home here.

Plus, I like the idea of Lin developing some chemistry with Randle, and Davis in the second unit. And this frees Lin to push the tempo on offense which he couldn't do with the first unit. I'm looking forward to seeing how good this second unit can be.

The bolded is most likely Scott's thinking....but with that said, I look for Lin to be starting at some point in the season.

Stat.. Predictions:

Kobe - 13/5/3
Lin - 15/2/4
Randle - 12/11/2
Hill - 10/8/2
Nash - 9/3/6
Boozer - 12/5/3
Young - 16/4/2

U think Kobe will only avg 13pts?

No way 20-24 at least... He's not 45

He's talking about this first pre-season game. You know the preseason.... where players, especially star ones don't play a whole lot.

Since its a pre-season game I'm looking forward to Randle & Clarkson getting plenty of PT. Also want to see Mamba shake off the rust.

GO LAKERS!!

Pretty rare to see 30 points in the 1st preseason game. Starters don't play more than 20 minutes (Lebron played under 20) and the team wants to take a look at the back end of the roster, as well as the training camp invites.

Doesn't endear you much to the coaching staff to be jacking up 25 shots in an preseason exhibition game when you're trying to make the team.

Love Afflalo. Wish we could have gotten him. He's a good test for Kobe I agree.

I would have loved to gotten afflalo for 2nd + cap space & then sign hill/young

Lin
Kobe
Afflalo
Booz
Hill

Much better

Yup. Very cap friendly contract given his production. LA native too.

If we lose by 15-20+ then that means we are tanking

People need to stop thinking that just because a team is bad that they are literally tanking. I don't know if that's what you mean but the way you phrased it is stupid. Sometimes the other team is just better and this team needs to go back to the drawing board if a blowout like that happens. From coach scott all the way up to mitch, they have only given the indications that they are competing for a playoff spot. If we suck, we suck but we are not tanking.
