Just gotta flush all this crap out and start anew Wednesday. Yeah, they'll have Strasburg, but we'll have Buehler who's not too shabby. He's proven himself in big games for us (tie breaker vs the Rockies and then game 3 of the WS last year).

We just need to show patience at the plate. Scherzer may come out the pen but he threw a lot of pitches tonight and we roughed up Corbin yesterday.

Remember when the Lakers would screw around and go the distance in most series by not putting teams away? Hopefully this will produce the same result.

If Scherzer pitches in game 5, that’s gotta be malpractice

That’s 4 appearances in 9 days

2 starts and 2 relief appearances

Yeah - not a good feeling to get completely shut down in 2 games in the series. I'm confident about Walker, but anything can happen in a G5.

But we haven’t been shut down in back to back games though. Here's hoping home field prevails and we can get to Strasburg.

I was afraid Scherzer would bring his A game. Damn.

I saw him "lose" game 6 of the 2013 ALCS. He didn't really lose; Leyland pulled him too soon and the Detroit bullpen blew it. He had great stuff up until he was pulled.

Two great starters going in Game 5. Dodgers have home field. Nats have the more seasoned starter. Dodgers have the better bullpen, but the Nats just got to it today so they probably feel confident that they can score off of our 'pen if it comes to that. Dodgers have both Kershaw and Ryu at their disposal if they want to use them, though Ryu has never really come out of the bullpen (and I'm guessing we won't see that unless it's truly an emergency).

I'm definitely worried. Anytime the opposition has a starting pitcher going in a winner-take-all game who can dominate any lineup, it's a concern. We have that too. Just have to see what happens.

For what it's worth, the Dodgers have been installed as -145 favorites for Game 5. Game 5 in Atlanta is a dead-even pick'em, as Flaherty vs. Folty has both teams at -110. And if anyone was wondering how big of a favorite Houston is behind Verlander tomorrow, the Astros are -240 for Game 4.

Definitely not going to be easy but maybe it’s a good thing Strasburg dominated us already as we’ll see if he can do it twice.

And while Buehler wasn’t as dominant as Strasburg, he did throw 6 shutout innings in game it so we have plenty to be confident regarding our pitching. And he started game 7 of the nlcs on the road so it’s not like he’s never pitched in an elimination game before.

If manage to push across an early run like we did last night, I bet we fare much better than we did in game 4.

I'm predicting:

Joc RF
Muncy 1B
Turner 3B
Bellinger CF
Seager SS
Beaty LF
Smith C
Kike 2B

Kike vs. a right hander? That's not good

.221 avg
.285 obp
.403 slg
.688 ops

258 AB
69 K

Let's get Freese some ABs?

Freese vs. right handers this yr:

61 AB
.361 avg
.435 obp
.738 slg
1.173 ops

I mean unless Muncy plays 2B and we can get Freese at 1B then we're stuck between Lux, Kike, and Taylor for 2B. I'll take Kike out of those 3, he's shown to be clutch. But it'll probably be Lux.

Shouldn't be an issue.

That was our game 1 lineup vs. Corbin

1) Pollock
2) Freese (1B)
3) Turner
4) Bellinger
5) Taylor
6) Muncy (2B)
7) Seager
8) Will Smith

so frustrated with Kershaw. when was the last time he threw a CLEAN Kershaw standard game in the playoffs? when was the last time he threw a game like Shertzer did yesterday during the playoffs? i can't remember one. it was either totally disastrous outings or outings like game 2, where you can't really blame him for the loss since he ONLY allowed 3 eared runs, and a team like the Dodgers supposed to over come that. yes true, but it'd so damn nice for Kershaw to pitch a no if and buts gem in the playoffs don't you agree?

Last year's playoffs:

Game 2 vs. Atlanta - 8ip, 2 hits, 0 runs
Game 5 vs. Milwaukee - 7ip, 3 hits, 1 run

But in all seriousness, I feel pretty good with Buehler on the mound. He's proven himself in these moments and our lineup is much better than theirs so long as we show patience at the plate (I'm looking at you Seager).

I wish i could feel as excited as you. One playoff series we had grienke (i believe before we let him go) and i was happy we brought the series back only to get whipped around again. I am as worried as way G7 2010 NBA Finals

We didn't really get whipped around...think we lost by a run. We had a lead in the 7th, I believe, until we decided not to cover 3rd base on a walk letting the tying run get to 3rd. And that was the year Daniel Murphy just went off...think he hit like 7 home runs between the NLDS and the NLCS.

And hey, game 7 of the 2010 finals turned out alright

Just gotta have faith man.
