He needs to be away from LA in a place like Phoenix in order for him to lose those distractions and focus on his game. Assuming Phoenix didn't get the first overall pick, I'd ship him out for Phoenix's first. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

I agree, it could go either way. Magic may have told him this and was being honest....or he could have told him this and been lying. Maybe he never told him this. |

How can anybody work on their games while being not only a son, but a father. Incomprehensible. |

So a young man of means is not permitted to multitask? There are only so many hours a day that he actually can practice basketball, without his body wearing down.
And I have no idea how he can possibly avoid being a son. |

Magic is the king of blowing smoke up peoples arses. He is a gregarious people person, that's what he does. He did it when he gushed over Lonzo, he did it when he called Kareem the leader of the Showtime Lakers (When Magic himself was really the leader) and he does it every time he talks about players....hello!..tampering charges.
I'm sure Magic blew smoke up every players tuchus that was drafted that year. People need to just be thankful that we finally have someone in the FO with personality that can sway people with his charm. Jimbo and Mitch he is not. For better and worse. Mostly better. |

Harden - Sixth Man of the Year (Year 3)
George - Most Improved Player (Year 3)
Curry - 1st Team All Rookie
Kawhi - 1st Team All Rookie
Klay - 1st Team All Rookie
None of our recent young guys - DLo, Randle, BI have shown that. Zo & Kuz are still in year 2, so maybe they have a shot. A loooooooooooooong shot. |
Numbers wise, our kids were all right there with any of these guys through the first 3 years. We just expect them to be All Stars out the gate. |

All I got out of this is that for certain rumors, Magic Johnson will go out of his way make it known publically that it's false.
Something which he did not do for the Pelican leaks, even if it was false, he didn't try to make a statement through SAS about those leaks being absolutely false.
Maybe he's trying not to burn bridges for when negotiations pick back up in the off season? Or am I reading too much into it _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

Okafor was 1st team all rookie. While some folks here claimed then as well that he's a terrible defender and a ball stopper putting up empty stats on the worst team in the league that won a grand total of 10 games. So I don't care much about All Rookie votings. DLO, ZO, BI, Randle etc are better than Okafor who made 1st team All rookie. They are also better than Clarkson who made 1st team all rookie while he was with Lakers. _________________ Showtime 2.0 |

Kuzma made first team all rookie as well. Not that I think that makes him perennial all star potential player. _________________ Showtime 2.0 |

But I also don’t think it’s wrong to think Kuzma has potential to be a perennial all star. He has holes in his game to work on, but he also has elite traits that can’t be taught. |

If Kuzma sticks with Lonzo he will be a perennial allstar. If not I really doubt it...not too many point guards in today’s league that are pass first and actually use teammates as an extension of themselves to put points on the board. He could do well with Russell too actually and maybe trae young |

There’s plenty of guys who can fill Zos role for Kuz. He does fine with LeBron even when Zo is out. Either way I don’t see him bring a perennial all star. |

Why isn’t there news on Lonzo? There should be a practice shootaround on a weekday, very weird. |

Lebron is as unselfish a playmaker you will find and he doesn’t have enough years left in the nba to make Kuzma a perennial allstar. Kuzma is a high volume shooter...the reason he works with someone like Lonzo is because most people use their touches to get shots up, but Lonzo uses the majority of his touches to create for other people. So he kind of differs shot attempts to Kuzma. They compliment each other in that way...
Everyone knew Kuzma would work with lebron because he’s a stretch 4 that can cut off ball. He looks good but I wouldn’t call him an allstar...chris Bosh and Kevin love are examples of that. Those two can also create for themselves. |

Well it's still the break. If ever there was a team that could use a few extra days away to get their heads right it's this one. |
