Don't LOVE Randle, but I love players who bring it. Dude carried us last half of that year.
You can go rub one one out to Sleepy Ingram or Lonzo Airball, but I'd rather have players who play with intensity every game and man up. |
So called Sleepy BI and Lonzo Airball are contributing on a contender while the Pelicans are struggling to keep themselves afloat in the WC |

Enough dealing with these millennial's mindsets and moods. Some of these dudes spent last year playing video games in their off-time instead of watching film and working on their skills. It's not junior high.

Carried us to what?
And Sleepy Ingram and Lonzo Airball are currently in the 5th seed. Pelicans aren't even better then the Queens and that's with AD. |

Both Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis may play power forward if they get here. You're settling for someone nowhere near as good and it may interrupt future plans. |

Randle, DLO, JC, Nance....all playing major minutes, none of them going to see the playoffs, hmmmm, a coincidence? I think not. |

We could have used Randle against Millsap... but most games, we don't really miss him.
If all our first tier choices fall through... sure he might not be bad.
If he could shoot from range... if he could rim protect... if he could pass like Draymond... he'd be a max player. Unfortunately... his skill set requires an AD type player to offset his weaknesses.
He can do one thing really well... and that's recreate Shaq's game below the rim. If the rim was 9 and half feet high... he might be the best center in basketball... but he just isn't long enough to play the position he's best suited for.
You need two players to do what one should be able to do.
Every fifth game... I say to myself... boy we sure could have used Julius.
But most of the time I forget we used to have him. |

Josh Fortnight Hart getting away for a game tournament, gets back in time for summer league, early for camp, kills it in the preseason, and was in mid season form since opening tip. And you mock his work ethic? U crazy, son. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL |

Randle wasn’t happy here. We released him even though we didn’t have to. Call it an act of kindness. Not sure what more you want to hear. I loved Randle and DLO as Lakers, but I’m stoked that we currently have Kuzma and Zo. Randle and DLO are more selfish than Kuz and Zo. All their plays reflect on counting stats. Kuz and Zo don’t seem to mind the hockey assists or making the right plays. Winning is on their minds. Kuzma plays very well next to Lebron. Zo’s defense, athleticism, passing , and basketball IQ are world class. Sorry, I’m just happy with our guys and there’s nothing that can be done to change Randle and Russell. It’s done. |

Funny enough, Randle was worse than those timid projects at the same age, the irony here is mind boggling _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

They stilll deserve a lot of credit.
As much as we like to follow the narrative that BI and Lonzo aren’t a good mix with Lebron and Josh Hart and Kuz are best, just like George Kush said we’re currently the 5th seed.
However the plan goes forward with ZO and BI and their future with the Lakers , FACT is they're still winning games alongside Lebron at the moment.
Only been 2 months since they teamed up together. I’d like to believe there only gonna get better with The Kang 👑 |

I saw crunch time. I saw Julius commit some dumb fouls. I saw Julius miss some bunnies. Same old same old. Nothing we haven’t seen except he got more shots than he got under Luke. But please let’s cry over it some more. I say start another DAngelo thread. Maybe Nance dunked recently and we can start a Let’s Get Larry Back thread. For the Love of God ..... |

I wanted him back too especially at THAT price ...
But we did him a solid. We could have retained his rights but chose Rondo (essentially instead). with Lonzo coming off a knee injury, we NEEDED Rajon. How happy would Randle be playing a backup PF to Lebron who led the NBA in mins played last year?
I know in a vacuum these wishes/regrets look like FO mistakes but without proper context, you cannot make sweeping conclusions.
He asked for us not to match and we chose not to, partially as a favor to him partially to try and repair a relationship with his agent (which was damaged in the Russell aftermath) |

Without Mintz Jules is probably here for at least a year.
A reasonable agent probably could have talked Jules into playing on the QO, getting the spotlight with LBJ and parlaying that into a huge deal in 2019.
But Mintz was ready to go to war with the Lakers and probably handed Jules a 500 pound weight to free fall off Lakers land. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We didn't wanna give Julius 2 years, pelicans did; with a players option in his 2nd year. I wanted Julius back, but he wouldn't fit with this team. We are doing good with the team we constructed. I wish Julius nothing but success. |
