The Lebronites vs the Linsanity mob would be quite the spectacle though.

If the servers could handle it I’d almost be on board just for the laughs

Lakers fans and Byron mistreated/misused Lin while he was here. The whole thing about how Byron said “No Foul” and Kobe had to foul and the world blamed it on Lin. Lin is a very good back up point guard who needs freedom in the pick and roll. Lakers have been terrible in the pick and roll for over half a decade now. I doubt Lin would want to be a part of the (bleep) show. Russell was also a pick and roll master who we never gave the freedom to.

If he’s the guy who replaces Rondo then I’m all for Lin being our back up PG next year.

I'll take Caruso over Linn any day of the week.

This exactly. It’ll also save LG from a re-influx of Lin first fans. This place is painful enough as it is.

Caruso and Lin can actually split the minutes at the PG back up spot...

18MPG for Lin and 13MPG for Caruso.

Eh so lonzo only plays 17mpg???

we dont want to have an offense thats based on the pick and roll. you wonder why non of those teams have won anything doing that yet. there's a reason. when you get to the playoffs and meat a team that knows how to play defense and gets to study your PnR. they will start shutting down certain aspects of it. now you dont have a plan B because thats all you do all season long. you will lose. and remember we've seen even better players than lin run PnR and still lose to a team with solid defense in the playoffs and a more versatile offense.

Number of 70 game seasons for Lin... 5

Number of 70 game seasons for AD... 2

Number of 70 game seasons for Kyrie... 3

To be clear... AD and Kyrie are miles better than Lin... but ask yourselves why some are willing to trade half the team and pay a max contract for one guy... and the other they don't think is worth signing as a backup role for free.

I doubt Lin would want to come after getting treated like crap by our team, but if he did he would be fine as backup.

He played over 70 games this season and did well at Atlanta...

The Lin only fans were dumb af... but I saw a lot of reverse discrimination and irrational hate in the other direction as well.

I don't think Lin is an option the FO is interested in but those are all valid points to consider.

I don't think our FO or Lin has mutual interest... but you never know.

He's a good backup PG... was quite efficient in Atlanta...struggling in Toronto so far... curious to see if he improves in the playoffs.

I just had to comment when I saw the injury prone comments because I didn't remember seeing those posters worried about giving AD a max... even though despite the superior skill, it's an even riskier investment if you factor in position and contribution.

AD has 2 70 game seasons

IT has 4 70 game seasons

Yet we want to trade half our team and max out the guy.

SMH...

Signing him I get... he's great enough to take that risk... but trading the core as well?

Doesn't make sense.

To be clear, Lin is not AD or Kyrie; he's not all that. he's a good backup at this stage but as you mention, I doubt there is any interest form both sides. My comment is about health is 36 GP in 16-17, 1 GP in 17-18 before he now has those 73 this season. Take it with a grain of salt but you can't have both Zo and Lin on the IR and pretend to go anywhere.

Again, there is probably no interest from either side.

I'd guess we'll probably try to sign Rondo again... go with Rondo and Caruso.

But Lin would be fine as a backup.

Again... read all the comments of people desperate to sign AD for a max.

AD has 2 70 game seasons... Lin has 5 including this year.

I've already said that AD and Kyrie are much superior players, but you are paying way less for one compared to the others.

We are talking about probably a one year commitment while we see if Lonzo can stay healthy and improve his shooting.

If people have a problem with it, they are probably biased against Lin to begin with.
