Other than the San Antonio franchise the attendance for the other games have been weak at best.
The league isn't taking any money from the TV networks for TV rights since they looked at past leagues and realized they lose money, so they don't want any risk. The networks are doing them a favor by broadcasting the games. |
they have some small deal with CBS Sports, right? |

I saw that....Orlando pulled out the win to remain undefeated. Is it just me or does it feel like what little buzz this league had has all but disappeared? |

Its not just you, I have been watching less and less games as we progress thru the schedule. I only saw a couple mins of the snow game this weekend. The problem is the league isn't very visible to the general public since all the games are on cable or streaming video thru Bleacher report. They need to put a game per week on CBS if its to have a chance to survive. |

Johnny Football is back in the USA!
Quote: | Johnny Manziel is headed back to the United States to play football, and it will be in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Alliance of American Football announced Saturday night that it signed the quarterback and that he was claimed on waivers by the Memphis Express after the San Antonio Commanders relinquished his rights. |

AAF in jeopardy of folding, says majority owner
Quote: | The majority owner of the Alliance of American Football told USA Today Sports that league is in danger of folding without help from the NFL Players Association.
Tom Dundon, who became the AAF's chairman last month, told USA Today Sports in a recent interview that the NFLPA is not cooperating with the AAF by refusing to allow the first-year league to use young NFL players. |

Not surprised. Their only revenue stream was fans attending the games and there aren't enough people showing up for them to break even. They aren't getting any TV money because nobody was willing to write a big check to show the games and risk the league folding. |

Yes, XFL has a different business plan. I believe Vince Mcmahon was trying to get a deal with facebook. Also with AAF out of the way, he has a bunch of players to choose from that no longer have a job. |

if AAF and XFL fail....then it is time to accept that the market only supports one professional product. That said, many have argues the USFL had some success, and only folded due to a few very poor decisions in trying to go head to head with the NFL. |

yeah, it has really dropped off. I am not sure what went wrong. I use to go to Orlando Predator games....the old Orena would be packed...and it was just a big party atmosphere. Lots of fun. Jay Gruden was the coach, and the Tampa Bay Storm was our rival. Then it just all went away.
The Orlando Predators recently announced they are returning this season, but not in the AFL....will be in the National Arena League |

AAF operations suspended, league's future in doubt after eight games of first season
Quote: | The Alliance of American Football may end before capping off its inaugural season. CBS Sports spoke to a source close to the AAF and could confirm that operations were suspended at least for the day, and "probably indefinitely." However, CBS Sports could not confirm whether the league was folding.
Pro Football Talk and Darren Rovell first reported that the AAF has suspended football operations, though there have been no confirmed reports that the league is folding. General managers across the AAF were holding a conference call Tuesday afternoon. |

Guess they were losing money and couldn't continue. I think it was an omen when they had to be bailed out after week 1. |
