What a waste of time, and a total joke. He is using these press conferences to promote himself and his re-election.

Today was not a very good day.

Just yesterday, 26,000+ new COVID cases. 1,000+ new COVID deaths.

And now China is seeing a second wave of cases after they flattened their curve.

It's the start of April and I'm already done with 2020. This year is cursed.

I'm skeptical China ever flattened the curve in the first place.

Should just take all those people and let 'em party down . . . in an army tent on a remote corner of a military facility for the next 30 days . . .

Disappointing. Mostly young people. Their frontal lobes are not fully developed yet. Poor decisions on their part. They will probably need to know people who die from this before they start to get it. Kudos to the police for putting themselves in harms way, and for keeping things as calm as they could keep them.

We aren't a smart nor a disciplined people, and even with certain states issuing orders earlier than others, I fear that we'll be lucky to keep the death toll under the low-end of the 100-240K estimate. Too many Americans have a "don't tell me what to do" attitude (particularly young people), and when you couple that with the fact that many state and local leaders treat science and facts with disdain, well...

Prosecutors: Engineer deliberately ran train off tracks in attempt to smash the USNS Mercy

An engineer deliberately ran a train off the tracks at high speed near the Port of Los Angeles in an attempt to crash into and damage the USNS Mercy hospital ship, prosecutors say.

The Pacific Harbor Line train derailed Tuesday, running through the end of the track and crashing through barriers, finally coming to rest about 250 yards from the docked naval ship.

Federal prosecutors allege train engineer Eduardo Moreno, 44, of San Pedro intended to hit the ship, saying he thought it was "suspicious" and did not believe "the ship is what they say it's for.'"

. . .

He allegedly made statements to a CHP officer that included "You only get this chance once. The whole world is watching. I had to. People don't know what's going on here. Now they will."

Moreno has been charged with one count of train wrecking, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.

I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of this kind of crazy as the shutdown extends.

I was relieved when Brady left the Pats so I could stop rooting for them and not feel conflicted about my distaste for the Kraft/DT connection. But since DT is stiffing our Blue State because our Republican governor won't kiss his ass, I'm glad Kraft stepped up.

He probably bought back some of the masks DT sent them. Somebody had to do because the federal government clearly doesn't give a crap.

I think his wife was definitely not a fan of DT and made Tom go into "don't ask, don't tell mode." I think he knew him from a long time ago but did not openly support him the way Kraft and Belichick have done. Brady also didn't go to the last WH Superbowl ceremony. I followed both Brady's and Kobe's careers which started about the same time. It was a little hard to start hating Brady after following him from the beginning. But now he's gone and I don't have follow either him or the Pats. End of cycle.

I've been wearing a homemade mask and gloves when I go out for the last two weeks. When I'm at the grocery store, about 2/3 of the people shopping and all the workers are wearing masks. Most are wearing gloves too. When the government fails us, we have to be smarter than them and protect ourselves. I never bought the, "if you're not sick there's no reason to wear a mask" edict. Common sense tells you that *any* protection is better than *no* protection. If nothing else, it prevents you from inadvertently touching your *own* mouth and nose.

I just figured out a very simple one that took literally 3 minutes, an old t-shirt and 2 hair bands and a hot glue gun. If you cut the sleeves off the shirt and cut the seam, it’s basically the size and shape you need. Then you just loop it through the bands, figure out how tight it needs to be and glue the edges. Then, a little 1 inch glue strip at the bottom tightens it under the chin and small dab at the top center secures it over the nose. Obviously not N95 filtration, but better than nothing.
