So Woj is pretty much trying to say that Magic is trying to find Pat Riley?
This sounds for clicks. These kind of articles always coincidentally come out after the Lakers lose a game. Imagine that.
I'm guessing this doesn't run if he got his "sources" after our win last night. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I think Magic and Pelinka also need to take some blame for not forcing Luke's hand at hiring an experienced assistant.
I originally blamed Luke for hiring a bunch of his frat buddies, now it's on Magic and Pelinka for not doing anything about it.
Luke hasn't learned (bleep) from Kerr it seems when it comes to surrounding yourself with brighter minds. He has YES men all around him who are absolute (bleep) when it comes to X's & O's and making adjustments during a game.
I'd be pretty disappointed if Magic and Rob don't make improvements in that area after the season. They need to make Luke get an assistant to help craft a better half court offense whenever we're not able to run and gun. The guy needs to learn from his other mentor, Phil and have an offensive guru like Tex at his side. If Luke refuses and just wants to stick with his college buddies, he's gotta go. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Magic and Pelinka not forcing Luke to hire qualified assistant coaches because if they do, then the blame will be shared between Luke and Magilinka. The team is performing relatively well right now so in Magic’s mind why rock the boat. At the first sign of team struggling again he will fire Luke. Suggesting Luke to hire better assistant coaches is in hope of keeping Luke here long term and clearly that’s not part of Magic’s plan.

Doesn't sound like it's for clicks at all. If the report was "Why Magic hates Lebron James and wants to trade him" -- THAT would be a clickbait type report.

Or “LeBron is regretting signed with Lakers”
Oh that would be a good one. I mean, what Woj is reporting wouldn't surprise most Laker fans. It's not like some out of nowhere revelation given that Magic has already reprimanded Luke to get his sheet together.
The Lakers will not be moving Luke Walton. He's on pace to be coach of the year. One could make a compelling argument that there isn't a better coach for this Laker team than Luke Walton.
I'm inclined to think that some run of the mill "journalist" needed attention and tried to extrapolate a single sentence into something more salacious and clickable.
Yeah, he is far from a bad coach imo.. No reason to fire him unless a great candidate was waiting to take his spot.. It feels like a broken record at this point but he just needs those better assistants around him, especially being such a young inexperienced HC.. Kind of mind boggling they don't have more experience around him especially once they got Lebron and it became winning time.
There are 14 teams in the Western Conference that are less than 7 games out of first place (No one saw that coming...if they said they did, they're lying). The Lakers are less than 2 games behind Golden State, a team sporting some of the greatest talent ever assembled. Right now, this Lakers team is on pace to win approximately 51 games. There were only 5 teams that won 51 games or more last year, and Cleveland wasn't one of them (they came close, but I'm trying to make a point). This Laker team is still trying to learn how to play together. If you think we're doing good now? Just you wait. Because barring any major injuries to the core group, we could be one of the favorites in a month to a month and half. When the allstar game is over, and the real season begins, we'll see just how well Luke and the Lakers are getting along.
When we signed LeBron the expectation was sneaking into the playoffs. In a month and a half, we could be one of the favorites. So consider that when wanting to make a "coaching change."

In my opinion, if Luke is ousted, the only option is to do whatever it takes to get Coach K.
That being said, Luke is doin great right now.
Coach K will never leave Duke. Why would he? He always gets to select the best incoming talent, seldom competes with teams of equal talent, and works for an organization that gives him any and everything he wants, including $$. Plus, Coach K is getting up there in years. His legacy is solely based on college achievement...and it's solid. Oh he'll do the Olympic thing every 4 years, but it's really not his thing. I don't even see him doing the Olympics much longer. Every professional team, at some point, have approached him. If they haven't lured him away by now, they never will.

I have always wanted Jay Wright, like that will ever happen. I like Luke right now though, but I expect some new faces on the bench next year. _________________ Austin Reaves

Krzyzewski has been turning down lucrative offers from the NBA for 30 years, including huge salaries and ownership deals. I can't imagine why now, at age 71, he would sudddenly want to become an NBA coach.

It would have to be the most lucrative coaching contract in the NBA but it would be worth it.

Yup, here's the proof from the horses mouth.
That was before we got LeBron. _________________ We pour this booze and we drink this booze because we think it's yummy. YUMMY! So over the tounge and down the throat to party in our tummys.
