Looking at that stat, it makes sense. And it includes the D rating used by the OP. Maybe a defensive stat worth using. Good to see that we have 3 (AD, Lebron and Green) in the top 17. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Much better stat. For clarity, it is defensive PIPM, not pure PIPM which aggregates offense. |

Wrong. Beverley is an elite defender who also yaps a lot and acts annoying on the court.
Beverley better than Avery, but Avery is close and a fraction of the price and so far I like him better. |

If avery got the luxury of hacking away at defenders without getting fouls |

Beverley gets called for 50% more fouls than Bradley. |

I agree Bev is a bit better defensively just based on watching them play but on the other side AB is better offensive player than Bev.
Stats can be deceiving too. Gallinari has a better O-PIPM than Kawhi this year but he's nowhere near as impactful when you watch the games. |

This all that matters. Beverley may be a better defender, but he isn't worth 2.5X cap space so Bradley is the better value. |

The Clippers would disagree. Of course the Clippers have become what the Lakers used to be, willing to spend to win. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

No. He only commit about 50% more fouls than Bradley unless you have a source specifying otherwise. |

This maybe a true statement, however Bradley doesn't have the 'DOG' in him that Beverly does and I'm sorry that will always make the difference, especially when you have superstars around you! |

The Lakers are spending, but I like how they are structuring the contracts, loading up a bunch of average roll players on 4year $80 million dollar contracts that would sink most any team.
Hopefully the Lakers are planning ahead, so that when LeBron retires, they will have enough cap space to bring in another bug name talented star to play alongside AD...! _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Agreed, although i think PB gets undervalued on his personality and leadership. He is an absolute dog and that mindset infects the rest of the team. |

How much does the value really matter when we didn't get any value out of the rest of the remaining roster? |

Bradley is just almost as good of a defender as Beverley. The one area that Bradley is not as good is picking up fouls. Beverley is able to get away with way more BS without a foul call. Defensive stats are all flawed including D-PIPM. Defense needs to analyzed through film.
And when you factor in the amount of money each is being paid AB is a much better value for us |

So you wouldn’t be opposed to offering Beverley a max deal for $40M/yr then? Hey, you do you. |

Seriously lol. We have an analytics wet dream when it comes to salary distribution. High emphasis on 3 balls (Maxes for your stars), as many shots at the rim as possible (productive minimum contracts), while eliminating all mid range shots (overpaid role players). Kcp is the only exception haha. |

We are getting what we pay for. Two stars who play well and iffy role players who sometimes show up and sometimes don’t contribute at all. Caruso should be our 3rd PG but he is the best one we have. I wish we would have spent a big chunk of that Kawhi money on a veteran top 25 player. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Like who?
I don't disagree, I'm wondering which veteran top 25 player you would have inked in free agency this past offseason (we can assume Kawhi out of the running). |
