Pierce said on ESPN that he's easily had a better career than Wade. His main argument was that Wade played with Shaq and LBJ, conveniently omitting the fact that Shaq was at the tail end of his career when they won.
The only stat where he has an edge over Wade was in total points, everything else was in favor of Wade.
Pathetic actually, and so insecure in his legacy. No wonder Draymond once insulted him during a game about him not getting the same kind of love as Kobe. _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

lol Wade was clearly better than Pierce. Wade used to be in the discussion with Kobe and LeBron from 2006-2010. Pierce never sniffed that sort of status in the league.

Way to go for an overstatement there, Paul. He might've had a a better career (though he hadn't, not by most accounts), but he sure as hell didn't easily have a better one.

Pierce is so thirsty and desperate to convince people his career was better than it was.....that is why he is does all of the TV shows. He is not even in the same conversation as Wade.
And .. Pierce is the worst ex-NBA analyst on TV, always dumbest and most incoherent take. _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

I never really considered Pierce a superstar, just a perennial all-star and borderline franchise player. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
I'd say he had a better career than either of them. But really I doubt too many people spent much time thinking about how any of them rank against each other.
Pierce should've just stayed quiet when asked about how his career compares to Wade's . He should've been satisfied with being someone who had a good career, may even be a 1st ballot HOF guy. He could've answered "I leave that to basketball historians and our peers on who had a better career. And we played different postions so a comparison would always be difficult."
But because of his insecurity he opened a can of worms by saying he "easily" had the better career. Now people are digging up all the numbers and instead of "probably better than Wade's " it's now "definitely worse than Wade's." _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

TBH...Pierce. Wade's career is overshadowed by having LeBron.
Pierce won exactly one championship-- the same as Wade without LeBron. And Pierce had KG and Allen for that one championship. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Personally, I find it refreshing for an athlete to tell the truth, rather than give a politically correct, say-nothing answer,
And is it really all that shocking that a type A professional athlete thinks he had a better career than a contemporary who was in the same general tier as him?
Pierce has been saying stuff like this for years. I don't think he cares what other people think that much.

In my opinion....here is the score.....
Championships
DWade - 3
Pierce - 1
1st Team All NBA
DWade - 2
Pierce - 0
Championships are always a measure....always will be. At the same time, while I think All Star appearances mean little....but All NBA is the true measure of the best players in the game. Still, the 1st Team All NBA illustrates who reached a truly elite level in the game....for that season. Paul Pierce never was recognized in this group during any season.

He seemed to care when Jalen Rose rattled off Wade's career accomplishments in comparison to his own.

I meant I don't think Pierce cares if people think he's being petty or thin-skinned or unreasonable. When people criticize his opinions, he tends to double-down on those opinions.
He's kind of the opposite of Scottie Pippen, who will change his opinion when he encounters the slightest blowback.

When facts are involved in the discussion, opinions don't mean (bleep). More titles, more all-stars, more all-NBA, more All-Defense, higher career PPG etc. Those are real number and facts. His argument is that IF he had Shaq, IF he had LebRon, blah blah blah. Well, "IF" didn't happen, while Wade's stats did.
It's like using "alternative facts" to support a flawed argument. _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”
