Odom is not a point guard, lets stop trying to make him one! Imagine the other guards dribble penetration with Odom up top. Also Imagine Odom up top on offense chucking up 3s all day long. NO !
I like your 1st choice better with Oden at center and Bynum traded maybe for a different younger PG like maybe a Bibby or a Billups.
Oden
Odom
Walton
kobe
Billups! |

Draft Oden. You just can't pass that up.
(And, why the hell not) While we're at it...
Trade Drew, Walton, Kwame, Cook and Smush
to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace, Ray-Ray and Matt Carrol.
C - Oden/Mihm
PF - Odom/Turiaf
SF - Wallace/Snowflake/Evans
OG - Kobe/Carroll/Sasha
PG - Felton/Farmar
But, sadly, we must snap back to reality. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

Durant.
We need a real PF to play alongside Bynum or Brown. |

I'm wondering, if the Lakers somehow slipped into the lottery, would Stern fix the darn thing to get the Lakers that top pick?
Back in the 80s maybe.....In 2007, I say hells no!
Oden says his offensive skills aren't ready for the NBA. So Durant looks like the #1 pick. |

Durant. We can finally get that 2nd scoring option for Kobe that people have wanted for so long. |

if the lakers landed the number one pick, i would try to trade it along with kwame brown and other minor pieces as necessary to atlanta for joe johnson and their #1 pick this year or next year (whatever they prefer, probably next year's since they have already traded their pick to phx this year unless it is top 3)...im not sure how realistic that is, but that would be ideal in my eyes |

I'll regret this and just say Durant.
With Odom and Durant switching at PF/SF with all that length, I can forgive that frontline with lack of post D as long as they defender post entry angles.
Then, though I don't expect Bynum to ever be a greater defender than Oden, he'll be fine under Kareem. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

i honestly don't know. I think Oden is overrated, but i still believe he will be a force in the league defensively, and having a 7 footer that can rebound and swat shots like him is always a plus. Durant would give us a guy to put next to Kobe who actually WANTS to score and put the ball up. It would be a nightmare for other teams to match up with. It'd be a toss up really, though a great problem to have. |

it's like being asked "would your rather have 1,000,000 dollars worth of diamond or a 1,000,000 worth of gold?"
either way, your getting a 1,000,000 dollars.
personally....... i'd take durant by a microhair. lamar and durant at the forwards, fuh-get about it! _________________ bonerkillcollective.tumblr.com - peep our art. |
