My favorite player of all time!

But read up on Elgin Baylor man. He was freaking ridiculous.

A Finals MWP can never be a third banana

Worthy was Finals MVP, not Wilkes.

Edit: My bad Mixtim, I misunderstood your post when I responded. You weren't saying Jamaal was a Finals MVP...note to self: drink more coffee before firing off a post in the morning.

Wouldn’t that make Kareem third banana and Wilkes fourth banana?

Was Byron Scott ever third banana or only fourth banana?

I know all about Elgin Baylor. He was a great player. He just wasn't a third banana.

How good would Worthy have been as a #1? Paul Pierce level?

Could he have been Jordan’s sidekick as effectively as Pippen was?

I voted Elgin even though he's before my time. From my personal eyes it would be Worthy and a bit behind him Wilkes.

This to be henceforth known as the Big Game James award, given to the third most important player on a Lakers title team.

Glen Rice deserves a place on the list, even though it wasn't always pretty. Worked out better than Payton did, despite the flawed fit. But he was better than we remember.

‘71/72 on a 69 win team that won 33 straight, Wilt scored 14.8, which was less than Goodrich and West who averaged mid to upper 20 ppg. He also had 19.8 rpg and although blocks weren’t a stat that was kept, he had plenty. In a 162-99 win over the Warriors & Nate Thurmond, he scored 30, had 20 rebs, & 12 blocked shots, while sitting out the 4th qtr. Jim McMillan scored more per game, but Wilt provided offense whenever he chose to, while he concentrated on defense at Coach Sharman’s request.

Final answer: Wilt.

I argue Bynum was third behind Kobe/Pau, not the other way around.

Bynum under Mike Brown: 18.7 ppg, 11.8 RPG, 1.9 BPG, all star

Pau: 17.4 PPG, 10.4 RPG, 1.4 BPG, non-all star

kinda of a technicality to include Pau in the list. Worthy still kicks Pau’s ass.

Was Elgin a third banana? I guess at the end of his career. Not in his prime. He scored 38 PPG in a season with 18 boards, another season with 35 / 20 / 5.
