Lue already knew what it was. Vogs and his coaching staff learning about it now. Luke & his coaching assts blew up the spot on their way out. Tell me how can there be a communication problem when as a FO you literally handpicked the coach and his staff yourselves?
Kinda explains the signings vs the playing time those “key” signings ended up playing. Also the whole promised starter (bleep)...
So till further notice, Bron’s going to be our OC/LeEngine that could...(but shouldn’t!) |
Very well said. Robthegenius |

The staple of this team is Vogel’s defensive mentality and Lebrons IQ and play making. The team has to keep building on that. |
He wanted to be but he wasn’t allowed to be due to his health and age (the league told him Nope). He was apparently still very active remotely and dialing in on zoom meetings and watching the practices like that.
I was kind of surprised and disappointed to hear the news I didn’t know there were some issues behind the scenes so that’s disappointing. |

Hey Coach.
I'm really interested about what type of offense you're gonna run.
Not so much the half court sets per se, but the style.
Will we be running more with Russell? _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!! |

So, when is Vogel getting extended? Or will we go into next season with a stacked roster and a lame duck coach? |

Vogel will not run any offense. He'll leave it to Russell, LeBron and AD to figure it out and do nothing to actually form or build a consistent offense.
Which will work fine if all 3 remain healthy, but if one goes down with injury then Vogel's weaknesses/inabilities as a coach will be shown to the forefront.
Worst part is he COULD have added an offensive assistant but intentionally chose not to.
I won't lose sleep over the Lakers firing him or not re-upping his contract after this season if the offense still struggles. Because it's on him. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I think we will see the 2 QB offense return next year.
When we had Rondo, when he was in the game, he had the ball. He made the plays. Dennis never really had that kind of control of a game. Nor do I think Bron, Vogel etc respected him enough as a player to take over like that. So when Rondo was not in the game, Bron ran the PG.
Same should happen here. Westbrook runs our offense. Good or bad. Balls going to start with him. Bron and AD play off Westbrook. When RW sits, then Bron takes over as QB.
The Vogel offense is best run this way. He wants his PGs to set the team up and initiate offense.
Lots of issues with Westbrook shooting, but as a playmaker, he is elite. Led the league in assists. What will be key? Can we keep his minutes to 30 and he is happy? Can we maximize the 18 minutes Bron runs the show? All of course in the playoffs. If teams are sagging off Westbrook, is RW ok with sitting and playing less (24-26?). All of this is for the playoffs of course.
Russ is a HOF level player still in prime. But he needs to take a look at Dwight of 2 years ago. Just do whatever the team asks. Get the ring. That cements your legacy and ceases the loser talk. |

Agreed 100%.
I’m surprised honestly Rob and Jeanie didn’t force an offensive assistant on him. |

Hopefully we get one this year. Along with a tight ends coach; and an O-line coach. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!! |

Folks, we added Fizdale earlier this year. Fizdale designed the offense that LBJ, D-Wade, and Bosh used in Miami. Since Russ' and AD's games are somewhat comparable to D-Wade and Bosh, we're probably OK on that front.
In fact, given the timing of his hire, I'm thinking LBJ and AD and Russ already made their decision about getting Russ here by that point, so that may have blazed the trail for us to hire Fizdale in the 1st place. |

Frank is the first Lakers coach to get an extension since Phil Jackson did so in 2007. |
