Devontae Cacok named to Lou Henson All-Decade Team
Quote:
Now a member of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, Cacok became the first player in NCAA Division I history to lead the nation in three different statistical categories in three separate seasons. The Riverdale, Ga., native led all NCAA DI players in field goal percentage in 2016-17 (.800), rebounding in 2017-18 (13.5) and double-doubles in 2018-19 (22).
Lakers' Devontae Cacok: Nursing stress reaction in foot
Quote:
Devontae Cacoksat out the G League South Bay Lakers' 123-106 loss to the Austin Spurs on Sunday due to a stress reaction in his left foot.
Los Angeles hasn't provided an official update on the severity of the issue, but Cacok's injury is one that often sidelines players for multiple weeks.
The two-way player has yet to make his NBA debut but has shined for the G League affiliate, averaging 18.6 points (on 65.9 percent shooting from the field), 12.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 24.3 minutes per game over 19 outings. His absence Sunday was his third in a row due to the injury.
Imo he can contribute in the playoffs. His game translates.
I could see him getting a few minutes if there is a bit of foul trouble.
For sure, he will be a rotation player next season. Kid can play.
I'm pulling for the kid, but undrafted 6'7" centers from small schools generally don't become rotation players. Hopefully, he can get 3 years in and qualify for the pension. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Traditionally, you are correct. However, we seem to be moving to small ball more and more. He can become a version of Harrell imo.
Right now, I don't see him getting time on the floor. the only thing he can do is rebounding. But at this stage, strength, agility and athleticism are not good enough so he'll get destroyed by most PFs
Montrezl Harrell is another physical category than DC _________________ White guy to white guy alley oop

Our Trez replacement both tonight and for next season!
Very possible. If anyone watched his gleague games he plays exactly like Trez and may actually be the better rebounder. Really good at cutting and finishing near the rim. Needs to work on his mid-range similar to Trez. Of course this was against gleague competition but good to see his play today.

Same undersized big man but better rebounder and defender than Trezz. But Trezz is a beast in the offensive end.

very deserving of more minutes - they need to find out how to get him into the rotation.
monster rebounder , great finisher with height - what is not to like.
If you watched him against good competition this season you would have seen him getting eaten alive on both ends pretty consistently when it wasn't garbage time. I think some are severely overrating one solid game against an undermanned very mediocre Raptors team.
He still struggles mightily against bigger 5's.. Anyone remember the game he started? That was brutal. I don't mind him on the roster as a 2 way guy and he has some game in him unlike Kostas but in no way should he be getting into the rotation over Trez, Kuz, Dre, Morris, Gasol.
He's basically our Center version of Dudley where people go crazy when he looks good in small stints or we're in bad injury or foul trouble and comes in and makes some solid plays but let's not get carried away with it.
