PostPosted: Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:34 pm    Post subject: Next 10 Games Before Lebron Return (Best Case Scenario)

Best Case Scenario:

Lebron out for 10 more games.
Lebron returns in April 17 vs Jazz (4 Weeks)
Lakers still have 16 Games left

Lakers currently 29-17

10 Games before Lebron return:
Magic
Bucks
Kings
Clippers
Raptors
Heat
Nets
Knicks
Hornets
Celtics

I am expecting them to be at least 2-8 here. Expecring them to win vs Magic and got 1 win against Kings or Knicks or Hornets.

So assuming they are 2-8, when Bron return they will have a record of 31-25 with 16 games left and they are already complete. They still can make it to the top 6 and avoid play in tournament.

So the ideal return of Bron is within 4 weeks or less.

16 Games after Bron return (4 weeks)
Jazz
Jazz
Mavs
Mavs
Magic
Wizard
Kings
Raptors
Nuggets
Clippers
Blazers
Suns
Knicks
Rockets
Pacers
Pelicans

Would include raptors as well on the possible wins. They’re not looking good lately.

If AD return I think they can beat all the weak teams in that 10 game even without Bron. Wiith Shams report he will be back in 2 weeks, then he will be back when Lakers is against the Nets.

As long as the role players looking better and better (esp DS running the offense) and we still make playoff, don’t matter, bring on the nets

I think best case is actually 4-6 games. If I had to make a realistic prediction i'd say 3-4 though and I think that's very doable if the team keeps playing with the effort and tenacity of the last 2 games.

Adding a buyout or two and possibly getting AD back sometime in the back half of those games will only help as well.

I think they have a very solid chance to win most of the games against the Raptors, Magic, Kings, Knicks and Hornets. Clippers could also overlook us but that's obviously still there's to lose if everyone is playing for them. Nets game is a question mark since there's a decent possibility some guys could be sitting but if even most of there guys are playing we have next to no chance in that one especially.

If AD is back even in minute restriction i'd take us over the Celtics as well.

Saying all that I wouldn't be shocked if we only won 2 I just think the team is adapting without Lebron enough to win a few extra.

Yup, that's why I said at least 2, I think they can some more wins specially if AD return and they get Drummond.

With AD2(Drummond) now I think Lakers will be at least 4-6 the next 10 games.

But if AD1 return within this 10 game. Lakers will be at least 5-5.

Decent enough to maintain the top 6 spot until Lebron returns.

The next 8 games are going to be roughest stretch of the season especially with Bron/AD out. The realistic goal is to win 3 of these next 8. That would put us around 11 games above .500 and probably be hovering around 6th/7th seed. That would be perfect because AD is assumed to be ready in 2-3 weeks time. The road trip ends April 13.

The games are the following

Vs. Bucks - L
@ Sac - Winnable especially with AD2
@ LAC - L
@ Tor - Winnable. AD2 would have had a few game experience with the team by then.
@ Mia - Toss up but feels like a loss
@ BKN - L
@ NYK - Winnable, but will be tough
@ Hornets - Winnable, but will be tough

They need 2-6. Sacramento and Toronto look like the 2 most winnable.

NYK might have a shot depending on if it becomes a defensive struggle type showdown.

Wishing though they can squeak at least 4 wins in that schedule, but 2 wins are acceptabke, but below that they will really be in trouble.

Mavs win
Kings win
Grizz win

Spurs Lose

I think Lakers will compete with the Mavs for that 6th spot. I think Spurs will slide down.

Bucks lost today against the Clips without PG. Maybe there’s a chance?

No Pat Bev or Ibaka either.

No Lou Will either since he got traded and Rondo didn’t suit up.

Magic
Bucks
Kings
Clippers
Raptors
Heat
Nets
Knicks
Hornets
Celtics

Already won: Magic
Likely wins: Kings, Raptors, Knicks, Hornets, Celtics
Unlikely wins: Clippers, Heat, Nets, Bucks

So 6-4 should be doable. Not likely but if they can steal 1-2 of the tougher games, they could actually gain some ground during this stretch.

I absolutely love your enthusiasm but realistically I don’t think we’ll win those 5 games. Again maybe 3. Hopefully 4.

Now with Andre Drummond I think we can go 4-6 or even 5-5, which would be great for us.

Good analysis.

I think 2-8 is about right. Thus, Lebron comes back and we are fighting for our playoff lives. Poor guy is gonna have to carry this underperforming team until ad returns.

Getting a 6th seed would be a blessing but I am still concerned we miss the playoffs.

Will be real interesting.

I think the worst case scenario here is Lakers will be in Top 7 or 8. I dont think those teams who are currently in 9th position and up will not catch the Lakers anymore.

Lakers vs Spurs for playoffs position. I think they can easily beat the Spurs with a complete roster.

Took a look into Portland’s schedule and it looks pretty hard on paper.

Please just stay out of the play-in game. Imagine if our entire 2019-20 season would've been decided by that (bleep) show against Portland in game 1.

Yeah, the Lakers should win that 1 game...but with their high variance crap 3PT shooting that’s a dangerous scenario.

I have a feeling that we're going to get the Clippers in the first round. I'm not too concerned about beating the Clippers, assuming that we are healthy and clicking by that point. But man, that series would be a circus. Even though the Clippers were a doormat for so many years, it's weird that we've never met them in the playoffs.
