Yeah, but they both signed for the MLE. We didn't have a shot at both of them. |
Right. I was talking about the Clips. That duo would be pretty ridiculous. Although, AD is the ultimate version of that too obviously. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Trez is good backing up the 4 or the 5 offensively and on individual defense but he doesn't protect the paint from penetrating guard like Dwight or even Gasol. We should pick up another legit big |

Wonder if Darren Collison is interested in coming back. Maybe he is washed after 2 years out. |

How about the following
Sign Dedmon - rim protector - no compensation required
Sign Collison - lessens Lebrons minutes - no compensation required
Trade for Mo Harkless - defensive wing - not in the Heat rotation and should not cost much to acquire. |

I like Dedmon (have been advocating for him since...the offseason). Love the Harkless idea. A straight up McKinnie + 2nd could work since he's out of the rotation.
Collison? I think it's been there, done that with him. I highly doubt they talk with him. Plus, Dennis is coming back and I hope we can all see how much he helps the team. We have a surplus of guards right now. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Collison is a true PG who can shoot the 3. Although size may be a concern he would work playing alongside DS as they both have a defensive presence, can score and if surrounded with Harkless, Dedmon, AD, AC ... should still be a strong defensive team. |

We already tried Darren and he didn't want to come back. I doubt a year later away from basketball he wants to come back even more. If so, he would have joined a team as a free agent. I think the Collison train has sailed, and it was a bit embarrassing for Jeanie to be parading him around last year only for him to say "no thanks, I'm out of the game." _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Embarrassing? I did not see it that way and I don't recall it being portrayed in the media as such. Yes both parties got to be willing but if Darren reached out to the Lakers I believe Rob would give it serious consideration. Maybe even vice a versa. |

People need to let the Collison thing go. I wouldn't pick Collison over Caruso at this point. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

There were pictures of Jeanie courting Darren at that Lakers game. Some pundits, after Collison said no, said that it was embarrassing for the team that it ended that way. Either way I don't care, as we won a title, but he's now multiple years removed from the game, and already turned down the Lakers once after a public courtship of him. I understand him last year but not this year. We have 5 guards all vying for playing time and adding a 6th just doesn't make sense. The Darren train has sailed (and I really wanted him last year). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

DeMarcus Cousins stats over last 14 Games
12.4 PPG
8.4 REB
2.4 AST
1.1 STL
0.5 BLK
44.6% Field Goal
38% Three Pointer (on 5.6 attempts)
75% Free Throw
23.6 MPG
that doesn't scream 'done', that screams 'get him as a backup center before the Nets, or Celtics do'. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I thought we had the "best backup center in the NBA" and therefore, didn't need a backup center?
I think this also shows why Boogie may not be a Laker. He needs to showcase himself to try to get a bigger contract. He really lost out on a $100m+ contract due to injuries. Being on the Lakers he would have a backup role, something he no longer wanted on the Rockets with Wood coming back. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We do, and we can still sign Cousins while AD is injured.
I've made posts about this before. The people that keep screaming they need a "big body just in case" and were yelling for Dedmon...
Cousins would be the best of the players you could get for that.
While AD is injured and you're starting Kuzma, Cousins can come off the bench, and he would not be in Harrell's way because he stretches the floor and shoots threes primarily. So their styles wouldn't run into each other. Combine that with both their abilities to rebound and they'd be solid off the bench at least till AD comes back.
After that if Cousins is continuing to play well you can still play him and Harrell both off the bench and move Kuzma to the backup 3. At that point its down to THT and Wes to see who should get minutes at the backup 2, as Caruso has backup 1 on lockdown for the time being.
Good news as well, Clippers can't sign Cousins

Cousins will now clear waivers at 5PM EST. on Thursday.
He can be claimed by any team except for the LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks (hard cap restrictions).
The Lakers can claim him but it would restrict them from signing a 15th player. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

But you're not looking at it from Boogie's vantage point.
You are consigning him to a role he just said he didn't want to be (backup big off the bench). I think a team like the Knicks makes more sense for him where he can basically start right now while Robinson is out for months with an injury. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Who is picking Collison over Caruso? He would help lessen Lebron's minutes being a true PG. Reading too much into things. |
