He accidentally shot himself in the hip. Must have hit his femoral artery. Such a tragic accident.

Different set of circumstances completely, but it reminds me of Sean Taylor of the NFL team in DC. He was shot in the thigh area. Both could've died from the piercing of their femoral arteries. Sad. Someone like Plaxico Burress should take a story like this one to reassess how lucky he was that he didn't suffer the same fate.
