I'm cool with starting May. Will be interesting to see if they go to Gonsolin or Urias after that.

Dustin May has great stuff, he needs to avoid nibbling and just throw strikes.

Ian Anderson with 15 2/3 scoreless innings to start his postseason career. End the streak!

Which means he’s due!!!

But in all seriousness, is this the first time two rookies have started a game 7 in the playoffs?

I would guess no but I have no idea tbh.

After looking it up, yes it’s the first time. Here’s the list of rookies starting in game 7’s:

Buehler 2018 NLCS Dodgers
Matsuzaka 2007 ALCS
Lackey 2002 WS
Wright 1997 WS
Magrane 1987 WS
Stottlemyre 1964 WS
Black 1952 WS Dodgers
Shea 1947 WS
Bidient 1912 WS game 8 (best of 9)
Adams 1909 WS

I am very impressed with May, great stuff. Better choice than Urias who has trouble getting started, and Gonsolin who got rattled too easily the last game.

Yeah it seems Gonsolin was a bit nervous in his start which is understandable. I hope we can give him the ball with a lead to take some pressure off of him needing to be perfect.

It feels like the game is 50/50 - I don't feel as confident as I would be if Walker were pitching today. Let's see what happens.

A primary reason the Dodgers chose May was to provide the 23-year-old right-hander with some "clarity" on when he will pitch, as opposed to leaving him lingering in the bullpen, manager Dave Roberts said.

"We'll see how long he can go," Roberts added. "But given he just went a few days ago, certainly not that long."

Redhead better pull his head out of his ass this time. I dont like this kid's mental makeup at all from what I have seen so far. Feels like looking at the young Bobby Welch - which is not a good thing.

I would have loved to send out Rich Hill for this one but Big Red + friends can get it done.

Dustin May is the youngest pitcher since Johnny Podres to start a game 7. Podres did it in 1955, their first championship, after years and years of heartbreak. Hope this is a good omen!

For you Angelinos, will the primacy watch be Dodgers or Rams?

I would have Urias or Gonsolin throwing if Freeman gets on. I already don't have a good feeling about May.

Depending on how this AB goes with Ozuna, I might take him out after this, even if he gets him out. You can't f*ck around right now.
