Up here in SLO County, we have just gotten the habit in the last year or so where I live. I have had their burgers twice, they are good but plenty pricey. What I really like there are the fried green beans, never had anything like them.

Worst to best:

Burger King - easily at the bottom, no saving graces. For some reason even the Whopper tastes like the diet soda version of its former self from the 90s, when it could be had for 99¢.

Jack in the Box - squarely in 3rd place. Spicy Chicken sandwich is pretty good by fast food standards. The tacos are a unique option, and pretty great once every blue moon. The curly fries are okay.

Wendy's - a big step up in quality. Best value menu, Dave's cheeseburgers are pretty good, their chicken sandwiches are pretty good, their regular fries are the best of the group, and the frosty is the only dessert I'd pay for at any fast food establishment.

Carl's Jr - first place by a hair (though hopefully not in your meal ). The charbroiled patty and array of unique options nudges their burgers into the top spot. Their regular fries are pretty good but the crisscut fries are the best side of the group, and the fried zucchini aren't far behind. Chicken options are all pretty good. Breakfast burritos are pretty good and the breakfast burger is the best breakfast item of the group.

Concur 98% at least. Great post.

I cannot change your rankings though you have to be careful on the Carls Jr. exotic burgers as the cooks can get frisky.

Didn't see that post. Pretty much where I'd line them up exactly. Love Wendy's fries, criss-cuts are my jam, and the fried zucchini is simply the bees knees. And all the real ones know about the breakfast burger. Great tastebuds Roger

You and your friends don’t debate dumb (bleep)?

That's the best part of having good friends. You can butt heads over stupid stuff and give each other (bleep).

Innocent man freed after 36 years asked what he wants to do on his first day of freedom wants to go to Carl's Jr. and orders the Mile High Bacon Cheese burger special. Declares that the commercials "did it justice". Wins free burgers for a year. So I guess Carl's Jr. it is.

For example slathering one burger with an entire bottle of BBQ sauce, etc.

I like a BBQ Cheeseburger as much as the next guy, but a little cheap CJ's BBQ sauce goes a long way, I don't need it seeping through the bag onto the Korean Rolls Royce's seats. (Kia Sportage, 2008)

Haven’t had Carl’s Jr. in many years but I also recall them drowning all their burgers in sauce.

Teriyaki burger is quite good.

I tried Five Guys a few days ago and oh boy was there fries super salty, it made me cringe, not gonna go there for a while if at all, I’m better off munching on In-n-out or Habit.

Their burgers are also premade.

Freddie’s serves a good burger and fries (similar to Steak n Shake since they own both).

I stop in for a shake and some free peanuts when I want some liquid calories.

Maybe an over priced burger if I don't want to drive somewhere else.

Should've got their cajun fries. I've never had their normal ones.

Habit is cheaper than Shake Shack and 5 guys. But not as cheap as in-n-out.
