Steve Nash is not a top 10 point guard of all-time.
Point guards I would take over Nash (not ranked, 'cept for magic, just as they came to me):
1. Magic
2. Zeke
3. Oscar
4. Steph
5. CP3
6. GP
7. Stockton
8. Kidd
9. Frazier
10. Cousy
11. Archibald (pre-Achilles)
I'd even consider a couple guys that are probably a tier lower than Nash, but who lead their teams to actual success and played both sides: Billups, Lowry.
Maybe D-Lill, although he's also a cruddy defender. I'll also cheat and say D-Wade was actually a PG and I'd take him 10/10 times over Nash.
Of the players I know, the top 8, I agree. Not with Lowry or Billups though for me. Nash led better.

I tried to change it up with my Captain Ron take, though I guess that should've gone in the film thread since it's a classic piece of comedic art. _________________ Under New Management

Agree with the first 7, no way I take Kidd over Nash...
Is it really that controversial if I have CP3 #2 on that list?
Not at all, although I like Steph more. CP3 is a bit too ball dominant for me and I think that has placed a ceiling on his teams success at times, given how playoff defenses can key in on him. This is personnel related of course as he only played with a competent wing once and that team was superb and clearly championship caliber, and an injury/historically awful cold spell from beating the Dubs. But I’ve always valued Stephs off-ball abilities and I think his gravity is game breaking. But he’s been very lucky to play with guys like Iggy - if he was the sole ball handler/initiator, he probably loses some shine.
Defensively I’d take CP3 but Curry isn’t a complete slouch on that side and there’s value in the 2+ turnovers he forces a game.

Yeah. I thought the ball dominance argument didn't hold when CP3 became a Rocket and showed how well he could play in that position too.
CP3 is roughly two tiers of a better defender than Curry. He can take on occasional switches and still win the defensive matchup. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Great defender and led teams to the Finals...
Often times, people use feelings instead of facts to determine the better player. Kidd is currently a Lakers Coach and Nash came here and did little or nothing, and took Laker money when he left, so I wonder if that effected the ratings?
Because looking at their career numbers, they are close:
Kidd: 12.6ppg - 8.7apg - 6.3rpg
Nash: 14.3ppg - 8.5apg - 3.0rpg
Comparing their playoff career numbers:
Kidd: 12.9ppg - 8.0apg - 6.7rpg
Nash: 17.3ppg - 8.8apg - 3.5rpg
Nash increased in all there categories in the playoffs, while had a slight increase in two categories and a decline in one. Probably why he lost TWICE in the Finals... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”

It doesn't matter to you that Nash played in MDA's system or that Kidd faced us with Shaq in one of those Finals. Kidd didn't have the team like Nash did. Kidd played defense. I don't know where I come down, probably with Nash actually, like you. But just asking if those things are factors for you.

My non-controversial opinion: All this basketball talk is not controversial at all, it's just basic sports talk (and it's definitely not "Off Topic") _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Is this controversial?
Jokic is Bird all over again, just taller, slower, heavier.
Not in my book. They possess a ton of the same skills.
I guess Jokic is a little more pass-first than Larry. And Larry's a better defender. But the differences are minor compared to their similarities. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Good taste. I'll watch Kurt Russell in anything.

That is indeed controversial, or, more precisely, wrong.
I've sought them all out and tried them everywhere between the border and the bay. Others items like tacos, sopas, tortas might be a different story. But burritos? Not even close. _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/
