Lakers need to just play smarter on D. Only double off of Westbrook. Don't double Harden until he has put the ball down. We have been reckless on D are are really lucky.

I'd actually like to see the Lakers not double Harden at all. He has shown he runs our of gas and making him work for his points and then work on D is a winning strategy.

This mindless doubler teaming must have minted in Laker uniforms. They’ve been doing this for over a decade now didn’t matter who’s on the team and who was the coach.

Wow, what a tale of the halves. I expected this team to come out aggressive but they came out dominating on both ends and then completely got dominated in the third quarter. Glad they banded back together and went out and competed in the fourth.

I could honestly say they escaped with that win versus they earned it from start to finish if they sustained any of that effort from the first half to the third quarter.

Obviously the changing of the defensive schemes shoved upon Harden through him for a loop, I want more of that. Keep him on his toes and aggressively seek the ball in the passing lanes. The hands on defense was critical, deflections and turnovers helped get this victory.

I wonder what LA team shows up on Tuesday. I just want a consistent effort from start to finish.

What do you expect from a team full of floppers that were trained by the HoF flopper himself, CP3?

You are seriously underestimating Harden, he might be the GOAT of flopping

Lakers did a poor job in the 3rd.

Shooting foul on 3 point shot (by kuz)
Shooting foul (by green)
Shooting foul +1 (by green)
Shooting foul (by kuz)
Shooting foul (by alex)

10 FTs just in the 3rd. On freaking shooting fouls. The defense was bad at that point.

Bad defense in the 3rd for sure, but rockets also went 8/11 (72%) from 3 in that quarter. They were 14/42 rest of game (33%).

Kudos to Frank for continuing with the game plan of keeping balls out of Harden's hand in q4. (I mean if we had lost, I'm sure I'd call him not flexible, can't make in-game adjustments, lol.)

I liked the defense to start the game, zone, man, Rondo calling the switch. It held the Rocket and we went on a spurt. I don't know why they abandoned that defense.

I didnt see much of the third but you beat the zone / make it unusable f youre hitting long range jumpers - and i see from the stats rockets were doing that.

Lakers started the game playing man, zone, man, zone. I think the zone they played was box and 1. It was effective and shut down the 3.

If Rondo can keep playing like that, we will this series in 5

I might start Markief instead of Kuz but yeah I think that's the right decision. If we do need one more guy, Dudley.

I would start Dwight and not get sucked into Rockets small ball

This.

great play by the lakers. big contribution by morris and kuzma off the bench. if KingJames will continuously be aggressive and drive to the basket, this series will be over in 5. AD should also be aggressive in the post.

We won with Rondo being +28 and Morris making 80% of his 3s. None of this is sustainable. What concerns me is that all starters except LBJ had negative +/- ( AD was -7).
We are in a dogfight, I wouldn't be surprised if we see game 7

Agree we were up 20 and still I feel like the rockets let the game slip away in the end. I hope I’m wrong but this series might go 7

The Rockets let it slip away? The only reason they came back in the first place is because they had a historic 3rd quarter from 3 and made I believe the first 7-8 they took and were shooting somewhere around 80% up until the last minute or so of the quarter. That is a lotttt less sustainable which we saw proof of in the other 3 quarters.

That was the best game Morris has probably had as a Laker so it's not really a necessity as some of those shots he took would have went to others if he wasn't on fire but if anyone is shooting lights out you obviously keep feeding them.

2 years ago the Rockets also had I believe a 50 point single quarter but as we all know they didn't play in the Finals that year either. They're a team anyone can and will usually come back against in the Playoffs because they rely so highly on the 3. There will be extreme highs no doubt but also extreme lows.

In my opinion giving up 20 point lead is a very big problem. Rockets made 22 3s last game, against Thunder, they made 18.3 3s on average. that is not totally unsustainable
