They can’t play the entire regular season in the bubble, can they?

don't think anyone knows for sure right now. I have heard maybe a start after Thanksgiving with minimal fans and hoping to expand the number of fans allowed later in the season depending on potential vaccines/treatments. I also would not be shocked if they waited and kicked off the season on Christmas.

Listening to the players currently in the bubble, I can almost guarantee they will not be agreeing to a full bubble experience again once they exit Lake Buena Vista. I think the bubble has been more difficult mentally that they even expected.

If I had to guess, they would probably hold a shortened NBA season if they had to play in the bubble again. I do not expect it would be realistic to hold a 8-9 month NBA season in a bubble.

I think it was mentioned somewhere that the NBA plans to open free agency in October and start the season in January. Not seeing how that happens at the rate things are going.

CandyCanes, I heard the reason they are gonna delay the start of the season is because they wanna bring fans to the games by next season which is a big reason why they changed the December 1 date, the NBA is anticipating things to get back to normal by 2021.

With all the other major sports leagues traveling to other cities, that is probably what the NBA will end up doing as well. The bubble concept works if you need to quarantine players for a month or two, it doesn't work at all for a full length NBA season. What will probably happen next season is the fans will slowly be let back into the arenas, probably capped at 1/4 or 1/2 capacity.

It’ll probably be like MLB — no bubble but also no fans + other precautionary measures. Playoffs = bubble.

If there is an outbreak and teams are forced to cancel games then there won’t be a way to make up those games like MLB does. They will just have to be written off.

I’ll be shocked if the NFL season doesn’t have any major hiccups.
