This one hit me hard, worst gut punch since Kobe's death. Both his death itself and the fact that the man did such a great job playing all those roles while battling cancer with not one word about his condition. What a GD professional. RIP, another legend taken from us too early, and his career was just taking off...

He made 10 movies after getting diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. TEN MOVIES. He has another one coming out soon, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

His body of work is truly fantastic and will stand the test of time. Black Panther was a worldwide phenomenon that transcended just going to the movies and being entertained. And that experience doesn't work as well without the grace and strength that Chadwick brought to that role.

And you think about him greeting fans (as a surprise), mesmerized by the film (the clip circulating right now from the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon) and how genuine he was, him graciously giving his time to help cheer up child cancer patients, when he himself was secretly battling the same disease.

This is a really, really tough one. He's the same age that I am. You aren't even advised to get a colonoscopy until 45 or sometimes even 50. You just don't know.

He kept it private that's why although if you saw his weight change etc you figured something wasn't right.

This is also quite a shock to me.

It seems that if it wasn't for horrible news, we'd have no news at all.

C'mon 2021.

I'm gonna watch Black Panther in his honor if I can find it on Netflix or on demand. Believe it or not, I've yet to see it. RIP, Sir. Way too young.

Super sad news, his Black Panther performance is even more amazing knowing the adversities he faced whilst filming it..

RIP good man...

Hey, you guys (well at least the ones that don't give me crap), make sure you do your colonoscopies - they don't hurt a bit as you are "out"..

I've had two, results on both were very clean as I eat very little fast food and red meat..

Right on and wonderfully written. He also clearly had great people around him - there were no rumors to TMZ and when he passed it was gracefully announced on social media. A class act surrounded by other class acts.

Apparently my insurance doesn't fully cover a colonoscopy at my age. What a healthcare system.

His achievements while being diagnosed with cancer are remarkable. I know of many people that fold, give into their illness, and never give themselves a fighting chance. His story/legacy should be shared with those ill and in need of inspiration. RIP.

The tweet from his official twitter account that announced his death has become the most liked tweet of all time, in less than 24 hours. The previous record was a tweet by Barack Obama from 2017.
