Interesting, I did not know that.

The exchanges above (OK, on the previous page, as it were) make for an interesting discussion, and why this thread can be so good. As is often the case, you made several good points.

Read a theory today that the NBA league owners know things will get shut down due to an outbreak. They know it won't work, but if they get their 7 games in per team the TV contracts stay.

For years Daniel Snyder has refused to change the name of the Washington Redskins. He's now revisiting that refusal.

On Friday, three separate letters signed by 87 investment firms and shareholders worth a collective $620 billion asked Nike, FedEx and PepsiCo to terminate their business relationships with the NFL’s Washington Redskins unless the team agrees to change its controversial name.

This article was tweeted by Obama. It’s a very comprehensive article about the problems with police culture. Actually an impressive piece of journalism:

great write up on the Tamir Rice murder. I always felt this shooting didnt get nearly as much attention as it should have. The police basically did a drive by shooting on a kid and dont even get charged??

Nice but dangerous. Good thing the guy was slight in stature.

And this is the drum I've been beating since forever. I know I keep retelling this but my buddy of 20+ years (now former buddy) is LEO and the very first anecdote in that article is EXACTLY what I've been saying occurs with regularity. When I was out with his group, they'd joke around with impunity "stop resisting" and guffawing their way to their pensions. This isn't a a one off thing..their very culture is every bit us vs them. I know most cops are good cops but get them together and the collective group think and blue line is 100% true. (bleep) need to be dealt with.

It's been said before, but it bares repeating . . . you can have 10 bad cops and 1,000 good cops, but if the 1,000 good cops don't do anything about the 10 bad cops . . . you have 1,010 bad cops.
