I tried to make a online purchase with my CITI card. It was declined. When I call to inquire as to why?

I was asked about recent purchases. There were 3 purchases made today and yesterday I didn't make. The card was canceled and I won't be charged.

Reason for this post. Is there a good app that will allow me to make online purchases and not allow my information to be hacked?

This is the first time this has happened to me.

I found this article...

https://www.pcmag.com/news/15-android-apps-actually-worth-paying-for

I don't use an app to make purchases.

Good luck!

Do you make online purchases? If so what is your ID Theft protection? Avast offers IP protection. Will that deter hackers?

I use Apple Pay when I can, that way my card information isn’t entered online again and again.

I have a PayPal account. I think I'll use that whenever possible.

I use a credit card, and I only purchase from reputable sellers: Amazon, Google Play, AT&T, and such.

Before the Covid crisis, I was still using cash to make purchases in person: Walmart, Food4Less, Rite-Aid, etc.

I've been using cash lately so I can rid myself of credit card payments. I've paid them down to almost nada.

I just bought a new mattress, dresser and nightstand. I went to Ortho and Sit & Sleep. Glad I did. I found if you pay cash it opens avenues to barter. I saved $300 on my dresser and nightstand got a $200.00 manager discount on my mattress.

That's only the 3rd time I've ventured out since the pandemic. Regardless of what the IIC says I'm staying put. LINK

Yeah, I saw the picture of that little girl, in another thread. It's funny as he!!, the way she's peering...to catch whatever bad things are trying to sneak up on her.

I haven't used PayPal in a long time, but when I did, I was very happy with it.

If you are ever a victim of fraud or abuse, they will take care of it for you.

Just let them know what your problem is.

Thanks. I do a lot of online buying. I'll keep using them.

I specifically used PayPal for the ATM's in the Dominican Republic, back in 2008 or so. It was recommended to me by a tourist Web site I used to frequent.

Anyway, PayPal was great: no complaints.

And the Dominican ladies...yeah, that's another great story or two (or 10-plus).
