Dion Waiters Never Got To Make His Laker Debut
Hilarious video" Bored in the House"
Quote: | Dion Waiters is still waiting to wear a Lakers uniform for the first time.
Waiters, 28, was signed by the Lakers on March 6 but had yet to suit up with the team when the NBA season was suspended March 11 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. |

At least he hasn’t been a bad influence in the locker room. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I actually thought we should have played him immediately, but oh well.
Hopefully we get to see some basketball soon and Waiters make his debut. |

They were in the middle of going through the toughest part of there entire schedule while after that the strength of schedule dropped off a cliff so it def. made sense to let him get acclimated first at the time. |

I almost forget the Waiters signing happened. Hope he's enjoying his time in the P & G. _________________ Not a legend |

Dave McMenamin said on the Sedano show that Waiters is in great physical shape, I’m excited to see what Dion brings to the team this season and beyond because he definitely has a future with this team if he acts like a pro. |

Waiters value to this team could be spot minutes defending Lou Williams. He did a good job on him earlier this season. |

I think we're going to get some contributions from and him and JR but both likely to be limited. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Nice effort by Dion last game. He has the ability to to create & make his own shot plus he seems like a willing passer.
D. Waiters stats:
9 points, 3 rebs. 1 assist
3-7 FG (42.9); 1- 3 3FG
*IMO one of the two (Waiters, JR), or both, could become a factor at some point in the play-offs. |

Depends on how you define “ become a factor” .
Will they have some moments or stretches if given the playing time? Probably.
The unknown is how consistent will they be? How will they impact the game on the nights they are “ not a factor”? Or even worse an “off night” .
Lakers roster is full of the complimentary players that are capable of being a factor any given night. As do most teams. That is usually the difference in the playoffs.
The stars will be the stars. The eventual Champs usually have a unexpected 3rd or 4th role player that excels beyond expectations during a playoff run.
Lakers still need to find theirs for this run. Part of the anticipation as a fan is seeing who embraces that role and becomes the difference maker. Will we witness the launch of a career as we saw Leonard do in his first run with the Spurs or an older player defy the odds to be a factor like Iguadala did in GS a few playoffs ago.
Would love to see “that” story be a part of the Lakers playoff run in the bubble. |

Waiters nickname should be instant buckets because he is just that, it’s good to have someone who can score in bursts. He kinda reminds me of Lou Williams. |

I'm not expecting any of the supporting guys to go on a Finals MVP run a la Iggy or Leonard.
We just need a few guys to contribute. If Dion can play 10 minutes as a primary ball handler and score a couple of points while Lebron is on the bench, that's all we need from him.
It's still going to be Lebron & AD and everyone else. |

Anything we get from Waiters and Smith is gravy, |

Wasn't too excited about Waiters, but actually I can see now that it might come in handy having a guard who can get his own shot if needed. It was something the team lacked. |

He's 100% worth losing Troy Daniels for. He flashed what he's capable of and it's one thing we were missing. He also had some really nice moments guarding Lou Will while he was playing for the Heat. |

Dion still scares me because he gives the vibe he thinks he is as good as kobe, when really he couldn’t carry Kobe’s jock strap.
Like if he plays within his role he could be a big pickup, but will he do that in pressure moments? Can we really trust the guy to not jack up a step back midrange at the wrong time?
I am super interested to see how he matches up with Lou Will, I think he at minimum puts pressure on him defensively where the clippers can’t just hide him. |

It'll be interesting to see how long of a leash Vogel gives him. _________________ Under New Management |
