This....absolutely

Truth.. Dwight is a serious Bruiser nowadays.. Opponents do not like guarding him or him taking the rebounds etc.. TOO STRONG

If we lose Dwight, then we're relying on AD and maybe Morris taking up those minutes against all comers and more importantly - while needing AD to somehow stay healthy as well. He has not done well in that area playing big minutes at the 5. I REALLY hope Dwight chooses to play.

Did Dwight Howard ever declare for Orlando? What was his decision?

Dwight hasn't announced his decision. Originally, they said players needed to inform teams by June 24, but teams don't need to turn their rosters into the NBA until July 1, so that seems to be the new deadline.

That said, a player can always have a change of heart and decide not to show up. So nothing's sure until (1) a player tests covid-free and (2) checks in.

If we lose Dwight too... it just won’t make sense. Are other top teams having an issue with their Top 6 guys not going? Just the Lakers? I’m sure plenty of players have family and things going on... The fact he hasn’t made a decision tells me no. I’m hoping seeing that AB is not playing pushes him towards joining and helping the team. This could be his last chance at a ring. Asterisk or otherwise.

Maybe Dwight just doesn’t want to return to Orlando.

Disagree. IMO, AD was never 100% healthy this year. I'm hopeful that the time off has let him get his nagging shoulder & other injuries healed.

100% LBJ & 100% AD are going to be incredibly tough to beat.

Clippers might lose Lou Williams, which means they will be a better team

Thanks for the update Ocho, it would suck if Howard decides to opt out.

(bleep).

I’m starting to think we are better off if they don’t play. It sucks that the Lakers could have 2 significant rotation guys drop voluntarily but it is what it is.

The Nets don’t count because they aren’t even trying to compete tbh.

Lebron loses the most. Going to be hard to get another chance like this.

Rob Pelinka says Lakers have been "working very closely" with Dwight Howard. He didn't give notice of opting out, so team is hopeful Howard will be on roster in Orlando.

We’ve already lost the home court advantage we earned, plus a starter, plus potentially a key bench player. Being the only contender that is losing players sucks.

Without Dwight and Avery I believe our chances slip drastically....Too much D to overcome....Now I'm starting to think an asterisk should be applied to the champions if teams don't have their full roster.

It seems like guys at the bottom of the salary chain don't/won't have the same incentive as others.

He has asthma. Theoretically, that could put him at higher risk if he catches covid-19, although it hasn't been proven that people with asthma have more risk than anyone else.

Ain't no asterisks. Teams not having a full roster is pretty routine, just typically from injury. But out is out....

Sp*rs won their first chip in a 50 game season.

Bron won his first chip in a 66 game season.
