Why was stuff reopening to begin with when the number of new cases wasn’t going down? We paid all of the costs of a lockdown without any of the benefits.

It's not that hard people. Masks, six feet of distance, no big crowds or long periods of time indoors with others.

Because small businesses would fail if they stayed shut even longer. The state has had to tap into the rainy day fund because of the drop in tax revenue. Because of the drop in tax revenue, government workers will go thru furloughs as well.

Another 1 day spike record set. LINK. Where is Trump? Playing golf at his golf course in New Jersey!!

If states don't take charge of their own care COVID-19 will be around for a very long time and many more will die from the pandemic.

It's up to us. We have to go to the polls and vote this, to use his words, Son of a (bleep), out of office.

If Trumps latest, trying to overturn Obama care causing millions to lose health care during a pandemic, not being a leader, not wearing masks in public, down playing the current pandemic, playing golf while the country is in the midst of a pandemic, saying nothing when our troops are targeted, trying to divert money meant for the military to build HIS wall, unemployment at a all time high, don't get him tossed, nothing will.

SIDE NOTE;
Americans are banned to travel in UK. SMH

REGISTER, GET OUT AND VOTE!!

Yep, we could have stayed locked down longer with more (some) help from the Federal government, but it was clearly evident this wasn't coming. So here we are.

Wow, if these numbers are true the trend of Covid related deaths since late April is Definitely trending in the right direction.

It's been mentioned a ton of times in here. But the death rate lags about 2 weeks behind the infection rate. So we won't see a change (from the recent spike in infections) with the death rate yet.

What was surprising to me was the general downward trend in deaths, but yes, very likely deaths will spike. I was thinking we had leveled off, but the decline up to this point since April has been pretty consistent. What we were doing was far more effective than I’d realized.

it would be such a shame if any of you were to leave honest 1-star reviews for Basilicos restaurant in Huntington Beach because its ownership forbids people from wearing masks...even employees. The owner is telling negative reviewers to piss off, too.

The city/county should pull their license.

What was the point if states were just going to reopen before a vaccine anyway?

Looks like the seriousness of COVID-19 is sinking in. States are rolling back their openings. Pence is wearing and advocating masks. I think we're about to turn the corner. Still a long way from the finish line but a light at the end of the tunnel is visible.

You aren't going to open for a while then if you are waiting for a vaccine to be widely available. Even with a accelerated schedule it will probably take another year or two before any such vaccine is available. Nobody wants to be a guinea pig for an unproven drug either and clinical trials take time.

I just looked to see if there was a county hotline for reporting this, and couldn't find one. I doubt the city would do anything.
