I know in one thread I posted about this documentary but don’t remember which one. There was some interest in where it could be seen and it is on A S TV tomorrow at 7 am. Kath was one of the founders of the band and a very underrated guitar player. Chicago was the house band at the Whiskey and one night Hendrix was in the audience. After the show Jimi went into their dressing room and said “you all are MFers”. He often said that Kath was the best guitar player he had ever heard. Definitely worth a watch.

Extremely underrated guitarist, also underrated as a singer.

Chicago Transit Authority hit the scene with little fanfare, but when their music began to be played on FM radio, their popularity exploded. That original band could rock, could wail with Kath's solos, had that hippie percussion rhythm thing down to an art, had three solid solo vocalists with Kath, Lamn and Peter Cetera, could harmonize with the best, and had a horn section on top of it.

Unfortunately, at least for my tastes, they never equaled the greatness of that first album--maybe they should have kept the full name.

They were threatened with a lawsuit by the transit authority. I am from Illinois and Chicago was the first concert I saw at the State fair but I wasn’t into them until about 6-7 years ago.

They were great until Kath's death, and then Cetera thought he was bigger than the band and wanted to turn their music to Boyz II Men with horns.

Not a fan of Chicago (the City or the Band), I did always like "25 or 6 to 4", it was catchy with some good Kath guitar!

I have just never liked horns in the music, not in rock, not in prog, not in krautrock, not even in jazz (do like electric jazz). I have no problem with horns in Reggae and Ska music though, even like some old 60's Herb Albert. But Chicago (the Band, not the City) simply relied too much on horns for this "guitar guy"...

Well then, here ya go: no horns and plenty of rippin' guitar.

I forgot about that song, it was cool, Terry was ripping and (I guess) the three horn players had percussion instruments... I even gave it a thumbs up!

I like all of the incarnations of Chicago, what can I say.

I did too, when I was there. Spent 3 days there in 2016.
