Assuming the season restarts, Cousins will likely be healthy to play in the post-season and will get a modified training camp to develop chemistry.
Does it make sense for the Lakers to resign him for the playoff run? |

The Lakers can’t re-sign DMC until the season is over, unless the team had a deal with the NBA to let him still be apart of the team, we will have to wait until next season for him to play with us once we re-sign him in the off-season. |

Don’t think you’re right. There is no rule stopping the Lakers from signing him.
He was waived prior to March playoff deadline and would be playoff eligible.
Lakers would just need to waive someone to sign him. |

Is he healthy?
Is he in game shape?
Would he help the team more than anyone else on the current roster?

The questions are (1) can they and (2) should they.
1) I have no idea if they can. Everything is upended right now, and to continue they'll have to re-negotiate parts of the CBA with players, so I have no idea if that has any impact on resigning Cousins.
2) I have no idea if they should. He hasn't stepped onto an NBA court in more than a year so who knows if he is in any condition to play. |

Sure, that's great if he's the Demarcus Cousins from 2017. Would we even want the current Demarcus Cousins in the rotation? No idea. |

And I am McGee I wouldn’t play until there is a vaccine. Very dangerous with his asthma. _________________ If you could choose between dating a supermodel or going fishing, would it be saltwater or freshwater? |

Interesting to see what he and other NBA players with asthma do.
Wouldn't surprise me if he could sit out and still get paid. |

Pincus claims we can re-sign Boogie (supposedly the date is June 22nd).
If it's possible, would you guys be up for It? If so, who should we cut? |
First, we have to see if the NBA institutes any special rules for adding players at this point in the season. They might declare that players can only be signed if someone currently on the roster comes down with covid.
Second, if he is eligible, I have no idea if he's healthy enough to play, or if the Lakers feel he can get into shape quickly enough to contribute. Given that anyone can come down sick at anytime, you don't want to burn a roster on a name that may not be able to contribute.
But sure: If we can sign him and he's healthy enough to play and we think he can get into shape fast enough, why not. Of course, that's a lot of buts. |

I don't see it...There aren't enough minutes to go around....McGee is playing about 16-18 minutes...Dwight about 20-22, and then AD at center as well...we also signed Morris as a stretch. I love Boogie, I just don't see it. Miami appears to be the front runners to sign him. |

Again, there are too many unknowns for me to make a guess.
Will McGee take the risk of playing or will he sit out the rest of the season? Will there be different rules for signing free agents in these new circumstances? Is cousins even able to play? If we can resign cousins, is he a good insurance policy in case someone comes down sick with covid-19? Will cousins demand that he be guaranteed a certain number of minutes?
Beats me. |

I see the NBA increasing rosters to 17 due to potential health complications. So far it's been rumored that you can only add from your training camp roster. If that's the case, hell yes. Who better to take? |

ESPN is reporting some players are hesitant to return fearing the virus. Players association is telling players they can not report to Orlando and not be punished. NBA is telling teams if players don't report they can sign free agents. If one of the Lakers players do not show in Orlando, Boogie would be my first call.
Dion Waiters would be the guy I would cut. _________________ Keep winning! |

Like I said in another thread, make JaVale's decision for him. Harsh or not, he has done his part but I wouldn't take the risk if I were LA even if he wants to play. _________________ Lakesh0wtime: "Guarantee ESPN and FS1 wont talk about his play tomorrow."

Based on the stories I've read, I doubt it will happen like that. Each player will decide for himself. |
