I'm being more mindful to hydrate by drinking more water and sleeping more. I also take elderberry syrup. I tried to order some colloidal silver but it's sold out everywhere for some reason. It's like the entire population is buying it up
I also make a tonic that consists of one lemon, half and orange, apple cider vinegar, water, and raw honey, fresh ginger and turmeric and I blend it up.
Trying to keep my chest area warm and not washing my hair before bed. |
Let’s not turn this into an opportunity to sell woo. |
I've also been making one daily out of orange peel, angostura bitters, sugar, whiskey and ice. Seems to be working pretty well. |
Good Old Fashioned home remedies. |
Lol. I've been doing that, as well. Just swapping marmalade for the orange peel in the mixer. |

Wow! (not for the snark but where we are at): 14K new cases, more than double any other country.
Let me go out on a limb and make a "bold" prediction: Our church pews will be empty on Easter. |

We had a month notice of this impending disaster and people still compared this virus to the flu. You had people not taking this seriously going to parties, spring break, large social gatherings, so its not really a surprise the numbers have vastly increased the past couple of weeks. |

Not exactly surprising or noteworthy when you have the third largest population in the world, and the country with the largest population is known for lying about everything.
India is low because regulations and testing are most likely a joke there since the government cannot even get the people to obey a red light. There are cops policing the street and beating the crap out of people who break the quarantine right now; this pandemic may have caused the police in India to actually do something for the first time in their lives without corruption involved, but we may not get true numbers from India for a while. |

What is key is the death rate. The USA has been pretty steady at around 1.4%
Italy is at 10%
Spain is at 7%
China is at 4% (if u believe their #s)
S Korea at 1.4%
Looking for a website that graphs the death rate by country... |

Yeah, but we are early in on the process of seeing how this actually sorts out. I would expect the US rate to go up. Hopefully not by much. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Hopefully it stays steady at 1.5% --- as you say there are various factors that affect the numbers including the the time between infection and death, but there are other factors such as health care of a nation, the overall health of a nation (smoking, air quality ) etc etc |

I wonder why NY has almost half of our nation's cases, yet their death rate is lower than the national rate. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

Testing more and death lag maybe explain it. They don’t go on the ventilator for a bit, and they stay on the ventilator 11-21 days before dying. The death rate for Washington is likely the highest because their outbreak happened earlier. |

If we start having to choose between patients to treat, the rate would probably climb.
I hope we flattened the curve enough.... |

NY created it's own testing capabilities, so they can find more cases than those relying on the Feds for testing. |

Trumps presser updates on COVID-19 are very troubling. He's talking about opening up businesses. He's about the dollar not public safety. IMO he's one of the reasons people are not taking Stay At Home as seriously as they should.
I understand why not being a fear monger is the right thing to do but not emphasizing the importance of Stay At Home is counterproductive. Some people are treating COVID-19 like the flu.
Trump talks about we have the best this and the best that. He doesn't mention we have more active cases than any country in the world.
He's now doing what he should have done in the beginning, getting PPE and ventilators. He's a day late and a dollar short.
The country is in as serious a dilemma as it has ever been. Unfortunately we have the most unqualified person as president we could possibly have to handle COVID-19. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Yes, masks work quite well. ANY mask. Leave the N95's for the medical professionals though. |
We had 10 N95s left over from the Thomas fire and gave them to a neighbor who is a RN at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. |
That's very kind of you. They need all the help they can get these days with all the shortages. |

I’m worried about emerging situations in New Orleans, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, among others. In China no province outside Hubei ever had more than 1,500 cases. In U.S. 11 states already hit that total. Our epidemic is likely to be national in scope. |

I'll have to try that. Sounds like I can replace the sugar with it too and save a bit of effort. |

Interesting stuff in there. So the expert consensus on average was almost 250K US deaths in 2020. But with a wide range of outcomes. Low-end range of about 36K deaths, high-end range over 1.1MM deaths. The consensus, that is. |

Quote: | NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Ireland Tate is young, full of life, unbothered and unafraid of the coronavirus pandemic. The 21-year-old is a picture of perfect health
“So, I’m aware that we’re supposed to be self-quarantining and social distancing all these things to keep everyone safe. Cool. I get it,” said Tate in a video she made for social media. “I just don’t think that I’m going to get the virus.”
She made that video days before she was actually diagnosed with the virus.
“It feels like someone is sitting on my chest at all times. It’s really hard to breathe. I’ve coughed until my throat has bled,” Tate said, describing her symptoms of COVID-19. |

NOW: A major hospital in the Midwest has reached its limit on ventilators minutes ago.
They are handing out forms saying that only those “with the best chance of survival” will get care. Others will be getting pain medication. 1/

Looks like its not implemented yet. not sure why he would say it has. Probably to get a rise out of people?. Reminds me of that tweet some Seattle physican sent 2 weeks ago which stated they are over run by cases and overwhelmed only to be proven false by nurses and doctors working there.. |
