So happy I missed this debacle. I see Bradley, Morris, KCP and Kuz combined for a scorching 14-41. Solid work.

So Memphis wins 105-88

Just a very odd game. Green out, but you'd think more was happening as Vogel ran some "interesting" rotations. Long sits of AD at crucial times. Using Rondo alot (who really did not do much in this game on either end).

It did not help the Lakers seemed to be playing rather listless. Combination of strange lineup usage + listlessness = going to be a hard day at the office.

Combine that with a Memphis team that absolutely needed a win, and there you have it.

As others have said, this was probably coming / due. Statistically Lakers lost on just about every significant category: 2 point %, 3 point %, rebounds, turnovers...and gave up TEN steals. That's an ugly loss.

I'm flummoxed at Vogel's love affair with Rondo. Let him play a bit, if he's ineffective, yank him and don't play him again. When he has it (it's rare), he's actually pretty effective...but it's not often, and he doesnt show effectiveness with more PT in game. When he starts slow, it means he wont have it that night. Cook should get more PT when Rondo is off. Also, AC should not be getting less PT than Rondo. As long as Vogel keeps this up, IMO it's the lakers biggest Albatross for the playoffs, and significantly impacts their title run hopes.

Pathetic effort. But then, when down deep you really want the Griz to be in the 8th spot it could dampen the effort. Still a pathetic effort from everyone.

And just as an aside...Rockets in Garden and leading in the 4th. I'm actually really surprised.

Does Kuz have the yips or something?

That would imply that he has a game good enough to get yips. He doesn't. He's soft and stupid and is supposedly an offensive talent behind the superstars, yet he has one decent game in five, if that. His decent games are only on the O end, too. We expect very little of him, yet he still struggles. He's not ready to be a key cog on a title contender. Something about his demeanor makes me think that he doesn't even give a crap about playing for a title. He's droll and introverted while being at 43-13. He's winning for the first time in his career and he acts like he enjoyed only his rookie season.

Remember when JaVale yelled at him for not lobbing him the ball for a chippie? Instead, Kuz got an offensive foul by doing that "run-straight-into-a-guy" play that he makes almost every game. I especially love his "run-straight-into-a-dude-at the-rim-and-NOT-releasing-the-ball-ensuring-that-he-won't-get-FTs-if-the-refs-give-him-the-benefit-of-the-doubt" play. Kuzma said to JaVale: "Re-LAAAX... re-laaax...re-laaax..."

Regarding Brawn and Kuzma, you can see who's really in the lab. And it ain't Kyle... If he IS in the lab, the lab needs a new athletic director. Kyle spends his free time in the beauty salon and wherever he buys those clothes. Those have got to be some interesting places.

One last thought...early in game, while close and Memphis started its small steps of pulling away...

Lakers had a lineup of Dwight, Markieff, LBJ, Kuz, and KCP. I actually liked what they were doing but they just had some bizzaro sequences where rebounds and passes were slipping out of their hands (this was during the many posters observations of butterfingers)...that's when the game really started to go downhill. In response, Vogel sat LBJ, played Rondo, and kept AD off the floor...Lakers then fell down by 16.

You can see that Lebron and AD just weren’t all the way there tonight from the start. I don’t know why they didn't load manage these guys since they got legit excuses. Sore groin, elbow

Don’t give a damn what Stephen A and all these other loud mouth clout chasers say about us resting our players.

We wanna be healthy come April.

76ers are hobbled. Dunno if they will still be when we play them but there's a good chance of it

LBJ doesn't want to get punked by Zion, and AD doesn't want to get punked by the Pelicans.

Theoretically speaking they come out hard...

AD and Bron going for 30 each and we will need every point because the Pelicans are on the come-up.

Which means it's quite fortunate the Lakers lost today and gave Memphis those extra win. Because when the Lakers beat the Pelicans tomorrow there's almost no chance the Pels make the eight

I know the Lakers will say they want to win every game, but this one felt different. They’re okay losing to Memphis. They don’t want to lose tomorrow.

Lakers will be up for that game no way they come out flat like tonight

Went to Tin Roof in Manhattan Beach and had my pepperoni pizza, I feel better now, despite the fact they had the Lakers replay in the background
