Not really buying into that we cant beat contenders hype train.

We beat the Jazz twice, Mavs three times, Nuggets once, Heat twice, and Rockets once.

I'm pretty sure those teams are far from being considered scrubs.

Sure were at the hallway point of the season but I still need another couple weeks or so to determined if were the first round fodder that some are claiming we are.

Lakers were just not engaged --- no big deal

Hey now that opening minute they were very engaged, went up 8-0!

But you could see they were getting lazy on the O boards early -- they had 2nd chance shots for the first 20 minutes

I wish I'd hit more Indica.
I can attest to CBD being like anti inflammatory on steroids for body pain
Grab a gram of CBD flower sometime to test
I even use hemp CBD flower. Interestingly similar effects to THC strains just no head spacing lol

even if I assume for the sake of argument that the jazz and nuggets are contenders (mavs, heat, and rockets are in no sense of the word contenders) we have yet to beat either of those teams when they're at full strength

jazz were missing bogdanovic in the first game against them and conley in the second

nuggets didn't have porter

tbh though I'm not even all that worried about either of those teams - I think they'd be long series but we'd likely win

it's the bucks and clippers that I think we likely lose to

Every team has bad games, we just had one today. Let’s not overreact. Especially some people think The Celtics would trump the Lakers in the finals. I got news for you, for one game, they are the better team, but they are also the same team who lost 6 out of 8. This is the NBA, the GSW can get hot and win a game.

The Celtics will not make it out of the east, and the Lakers may not make it out of the west, but I like our chances better

It’s a mix imo. Stinker mid season, throw it away.

On the other hand, until we prove it against the Bucks and Clippers...2 teams with the personnel to make it look like tonight.

The biggest problem is people acting like losses like these aren't a problem and don't reveal any issues with the team that need to be rectified.

Believing in this 'they'll flick the switch when it matters' mentality is never a good idea.

I agree but it also gets me thinking what if the Bucks and Clippers sweep us in the regular season but we managed to destroy them in the WCF and Finals???

Not closing the door on that possibility with 38 games left in the season left

We are like the current Rafael Nadal of the tennis world outside of clay courts. Very consistent and great compared to most but get exposed by Federer and Djokovic when matched up head to head.

I think we have a chance even if we lose to the Bucks as long as we can split the remaining two games with the Clippers. With the Bucks, even if we lose, we have to outplay them for significant portions of the game to gain some measure of confidence.

plus I don't see the Celts as a real contender -- 76ers and most likely the Bucks will come out of the East. This was a bigger game for the Celts and it was real easy for the first 3 minutes till the Lakers thought they could cruise the rest of the way

The teams you mentioned are not contenders. Clippers and Bucks are contenders.

Nadal exposed Federer for most of their careers because Nadal's killer forehand lines up with Federer's weak backhand. And Nadal's forehand, because of the insane topspin it generates can, when Federer is playing passive, bounce up higher than his shoulder - a weakness for one handed backhands. The trick for Federer is to be really aggressive and stay on that baseline but I think he's a bit mentally passive - Djokovic and Nadal are mentally stronger than Federer.

Djokovic does really well against Nadal because once again, Nadal's forehand lines up with Djokovic's two handed backhand but not only does a two handed backhand not have the same weakness, it's also the Joker's best shot.

garbage effort -- everyone thought no effort was required when AD was on the court.

Sure I agree they are nothing compared to Giannis and Kawhi but ironically the Rockets and Nuggets have beaten the Clippers. An The Jazz and Mavs have beaten the Bucks.

Absolutely right my man as to the Federer-Nadal dynamic but we are seeing exactly what you are saying as to what Federer needs to do done to Nadal since 2017, hence why Federer has beaten Nadal 6 out of the last 7 times they have played and the only one Fed lost was on clay. The biggest adjustment - use the bigger racket head to be very consistent on the backhand to aggressively smack topspin backhands back to Nadal and take away timing - similarly the Lakers can make key adjustments against the Bucks and Clippers in the playoffs after gaining key knowledge during the remaining 3 games against these 2 teams. Play a very competitive match against the Bucks (assuming everyone plays) and split the remaining 2 vs the Clippers (assuming George, Kawhi, Harrell and Lou play both games) and I think we have a good shot.

Concerning that so far in the “statement” prime games the Lakers have crapped their pants!

How does any Laker team go into Boston and play with so little intensity or heart? Disappointing.
