But then we'd have that AD-size hole too.

You sure? I read a website where we could get AD at last season's trade deadline for the corpse of Tyson Chandler, Lance Stephenson's expiring and bag of coal if they knew how to negotiate. I know this because I'm a master negotiator myself. Ignore the fact that I'm posting this from my job at a mall kiosk. Leverage! Position of strength! Position of weakness! See those sales/negotiating buzz words? Prooff!

This is a good bit, but I'm also thinking of what you at your mall kiosk job would have done in life if you were tall, white, and looked like Rob Lowe's brother.

He's been awesome since getting back into the starting lineup.

Lonzo got another triple double after the game.

Just missed one today. Will he get it after the game again?

17 (on 7-23 shooting) 12 rebs, 9 assists, 7 tovs, 3 steals

They were playing without Ingram, Jrue, JJ, and Favors. So basically every other starter, and they still beat Detroit.

Pelicans are looking like a good basketball team, just in time to get Zion back on thursday, reportedly.

Happy to see Lonzo is shooting better. But damn. Still a shade under 40% from the field and 51% from the line for the season.
He's still a ways away from being consistent.

When he shoots poorly for long stretches, it's extraordinarily poor.

In January Lonzo is one of only 3 players to have at least 50 rebounds and 50 assists. LeBron and Luka Doncic are the other 2.

Hated to see BI and Lonzo go but if they weren't in the deal we most likely wouldn't have gotten AD. Crazy, players leave the Lakers and show promise. Case in point Dlo.

They showed promise here, some people just ignored it till they put on another jersey.

I love that on a night in which he can't shoot for (bleep) that he has 13 assists and is second on the team in +/- (1st aming starters).

He's definitely what we're missing from the point guard position.

Yeah, Lonzo is always contributing, whether he's on offensively or not, and that's not easy to find in young players, especially young players as dedicated to defense as him.

I don't think NO wanted Kuz. They wanted Ball and BI, especially BI.

Tbh if he was not dedicated to defense, he would be playing in China or Europe in 5 years, considering the current limitations in his offensive games.

Defense today is a premium. Lonzo's offense is improving. He's altered his shot and will get better offensively. Offense isn't only shooting. He's good at setting up his teammates. He's only 22.

He's 22 and may improve but you don't stay in the League for a long time if you are a guard with Lonzo's shootin % unless at least you committ at defending

That's what people are deliberately ignoring. This clumsy narrative that Kuzma is still here because he's the one the Lakers prized the most is just foolish. The way BI is playing this year is precisely why it was necessary for him to be included in the trade. NOLA was not going to deal AD to the Lakers in a package centered around Kuz lol. Kuz is a very skilled young player who still has plenty of untapped potential, but BI and Lonzo are more impactful players and have considerably higher ceilings. That, again, is why they were the ones who had to go. And 33-8 makes it hard to argue that that wasn't the right decision.
