This is how I've always understood it: It's not about why are Sunday games earlier but more of why weekday games are later. And the reason they are later is because people have work until 5 or 6 usually and by the time people get home or get to Staples to watch, it would be around 7:30PM. Most people don't have work Sundays so they get the preferred time at 6:30PM instead of 7:30.
