Murray and Jokic did not look there normal selves. Especially the way they normally would torch us.

Gotta love the focus we had tonight

Credit the Lakers defense on why they aren't in normal selves.

LeBron mentioned a bunch of guys are fighting off being sick.

That's the only thing that gives me a bit of concern for tomorrow. They all had to play a lot of minutes tonight and then jump on a plane to turn around and do it all again tomorrow. Hope the guys can find some rest.

Frank Vogel said Anthony Davis is under the weather, and missed the team film session this morning. He’s hopeful AD can play through it.
In fact, several guys have “flu-like symptoms” that are going around, but he doesn’t think it’ll keep anybody from playing.

They'll pull through!

I'm the one who posted that quote that was from this afternoon before the game

I'm talking about now on the back to back.

Like I said: They'll pull through!

AD in the post game interview looked like he was about to pass out.

Well that was what I was implying by saying our defense was pretty damn good leading into Murray and Jokic not looking themselves

He was spent but AD would have to be bed-ridden before he misses a game.

No AB, unfair officiating, on the road, high altitude, half the team sick.
This team has such GRIT!

Lebron just said the vibe is soo much better this season.

That in the past it felt like when it was crunch time he was out there by himself. Doesn’t feel like that for him now.

Even with 6 guys sick they all come out with that sense of urgency.

Squad is tough 😤😤😤💪🏀🔥💪🏀🔥

Not gonna be popular by saying this but I give a lot of credit to Rondo.
He talks the most (bleep) on the team and never sugar coats anything. Hopefully he can chew Kuzma a new one for playing like a scrub as of late

Old basketball truism, play defense, offensive will take care of itself. AD is a better defensive player than I gave him credit for so is Bron. When they put their minds to it they defensive beasts.

Several Lakers spoke of the importance of bouncing back from a loss, and they do so impressively by beating Denver (13-5) on the road, 105-96, w/several guys sick.

LAL have won 9 straight road games, and also give an early answer to some discussion about the strength of schedule.

A new STREAK

We already know athletically they are beyond this world, now you mix in the effort and toughness they become unstoppable on both ends of the floor.

Denver was used to having there way with us with Javale, Muscala, Jonathan Williams, and Mike Beasley guarding the paint

What a huge difference Anthony does for your team

Same here. Fantastic result! Half the team sick, and we beat Denver in Denver, shutting them down in the process. I definitely want to see the replay.

My takeaway from reading this thread is that the Lakers are playing stout defense even without Bradley. Excellent.

Defense was good, but we also got fortune with 6-29 shooting from 3 by Denver. They are not a great shooting team but better than that.

I think Denver's overrated though.

I think Clips will be top 3, so it's important to get that one seed and let them duke it out in the 2/3 bracket.

To be honest I don't really think the Nuggets have a chance against a healthy Lakers in the playoffs. Even if the Nuggets won the next 3 regular season games vs the Lakers and had the best record in the West I still wouldn't be worried about the Nuggets in the playoffs.

I just know a locked in playoff Lakers team is just a bad match up for the Nuggets. I am not trying to knock the Nuggets, but there is just no way the Nuggets could beat a lineup of AD at the 5 most of the game. AD at the 5 is going to happen a lot in the playoffs. Right now it's just parts of games. Jokic doesn't have the mobility for a series like that. His lateral quickness would definitely be attacked constantly.

So watched, what stood out:

1. Effort was much better. Showed up in their rebound advantage
2. They played pretty consistent throughout and other than a slight lull in the third were playing at a solid level throughout. That’s how championship caliber teams do it, consistent play at a solid to high level throughout; leads expand when opponent starts to enter a scoring drought
3. They attacked on offense much more purposeful this time. Didn’t get sucked into a track meet
4. Defense was good

Definitely helped Denver didn’t hit 17 3s as well (hello Dallas)

Early season statement win, let’s keep it up!

Great win. Team went out there focused and ready to play. And got the results they needed. Impressive win despite the illnesses and road game.

Some of you are dismissing the Nuggets a bit too quickly though. They had a bad shooting night. Open shots they normally make. They won’t all season.

Most annoying thing for me is since I live in Denver the Laker telecast is blacked out and I am forced to listen to the insufferable Nugget announcers. For the record, Nuggets feel the officiating was bad too. Only in the the Lakers favor. The whining was non stop!

It was nice to have them get the win though. So tired of the lead up to the game and the replaying of the “take that L with you” clip. Thanks to the Lakers for the win.

Joker looked nothing like himself last year. He's fat and slow now. Nuggets are not a threat. So far, only Clippers and Mavs have shown to be potential threat to the Lakers. Let's see how Utah have changed if at all since we beat them quite handily last time.
