Lakers tax.
I mean Pels shopped him around the deadline last year and got 0 offers with even a 2nd rounder. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Not a very good asset if no team wants you. Look at his pay vs what he is providing for the Knicks. I bet they would gladly give him back to the Lakers to get rid of that contract. |

I didn't watch any knicks game so far but my guess is that Julius doesn't give a f* about this season and I can understand why.
He has no chance to reach the playoff, he got a big contract which is fully guaranteed for the next season too, and, if NY decides to trade him, I doubt that his new destination will be worse than the Knicks from a basketball standpoint. |

His talk was entirely about wanting to get his team to the playoffs and take that next step. The Knicks proceeded to go out and sign 2 other pfs. I expected this to be a struggling year for Julius if he wasn’t sharing the front court with a shooter. That team just severely lacks and threats from the perimeter, that’s obviously going to cause a man to struggle to some degree. |

We did get an asset for Julius, he helped us win more games in 2018 and keep our pick in the 10-12 range so Philly couldn't capitalize, and Boston had little shot at getting it. A penny saved is a penny earned.
The bottom line is, everyone knew the Lakers were pursuing LeBron and another max player in the summer of 2018. Therefore, it was known we could not match any offer made for Randle, as he would be given a one year automatic NTC if we did match any offer sheet. Also, he could not be traded to the team that signed him to said offer sheet. |

it was clear as day to me that Julius was the typical good stats on on bad team type of player. So glad the Lakers didnt burn salary on him but wish we could have traded him from an asset. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

The only reason the Nets got anything for Russell was, KD just happened to be going to Brooklyn. They were about to let him walk away for nothing.
It's difficult when each of our young stars has had a breakout in their fourth years, but still did not show that they were good fits for the future of their current franchises. Makes it very, very tricky to trade them...just observe what will happen if the Pels try to trade Lonzo in his contract year, or this year for that matter. |

When you're the only option on a bad team that's bad, you get called a "good stats on a bad team" player.
Yet at the same time it has to do with the team you're on and people show favoritism to whom they support or don't.
For example, if Kuzma averages 17 on a Lakers team going nowhere he's "a soon to be star once we get some pieces" When Randle averages 20/10/4 as a starter on a Lakers team going nowhere it's "only good stats cause we're bad."
Then Randle stays consistent regardless of the team he's playing with, he's "good stats on bad team." but Kuzma regresses each year and it's "he just needs some time."
There's no such thing as a 'good stats on a bad team' player. There's good players on bad teams. That's about as simple as it gets.
Look at LaVine in Chicago, look at AD the majority of his time in New Orleans, look at Boogie in Sacramento.
You mean to tell me if those guys weren't in their current situations and were on a team like..oh.. the Lakers, or the Clippers, or even the Trailblazers that they wouldn't have made a significant impact?
One person can't do it all, and the fact that 'good stats on a bad team' has no consistency with being judged, and primarily is based upon what players you favor, is why it's a pretty baseless thing to say.
Last year on New Orleans, they were a 'bad' team, but he still averaged 21/8/3 coming off the bench.
From what I've seen on the Knicks, and I've checked them out all year, is that it's a bad fit all around for him. They likely can't trade him due to the deal they gave him, but at the same time, the style they play, the system they're in, the teammates around him, it's a bad fit all around.
To try to pin their lack of success on Randle is stretching it a bit far, particularly as the only person on that team that gives more to their offense is Marcus Morris.
Now when you're on a team and Marcus Morris is your 2nd best player, that's telling.
Even the Knicks prospect Kevin Knox whom looked promising last year, is averaging only 8 points this season, Dennis Smith Jr is averaging 5 points, and Ntilikita is averaging 6 as a starter.
Randle. despite the team having 4 point guards, is 2nd on their team in assists... if that doesn't tell you the lack of structure that team and franchise has, I don't know what to tell you.
If you watch this dumpster fire of a team play with no direction, no coaching, no competent team structure, and your takeaway from it is "hah I knew it, Randle was no good." then you've missed a lot. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Lets face it, his basketball career is dying on a vine playing on the crappy Knicks. Good for the wallet, bad for a career move. |

Jules is playing fine, the team he's on is not a good fit for him, or for anyone.
The Knicks are a dumpster fire bordering on Sacramento Kings territory, if not already there. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Nah man, Jules got paid and went to the WORST franchise in the NBA.
This is what he deserves. Plus he sucks right now. Just had a stinker of a game. I know, he's on my fantasy team and I'm debating trying to find someone to replace him.

Last year he left some good money on the table for signing with NOP that had legitimate playoff ambitions and was supposed to be a very good and competitive team, other than being a healthy environment.
Then everything broke up with the injuries, the slow season start and obviously AD requesting the trade.
So I can totally understand him giving priority to financial security in the next contract, and 2 years with guaranteed 37 millions give you some financial security.
He just turned 25 y.o. (just less than 1 year older than kuzma to put it in some perspective), so has a lot of time for pursuing a basketball career, and I'm pretty sure that, if healthy, he will get at least 1 ASG nominee before everything is said and done. |

Last I checked, the Kings are 1 game out of 8th in the West. They are not a dumpster fire. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

Yeah. I really liked Jules but man, the rep will be a numbers guy on a bad team.
hopefully his stay on the Knicks is short lived. that team is horrific. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Randle is going to be fine, but he did sign up for the big bucks, to join the dumpster fire. Sort of like Lebron did when he came here. He has to hope the Knicks can get a really good scoring guard out of the draft, or they find the way to get one in free agency or other means. Imagine Randle with the Heat, Pacers, maybe the Spurs or the Wolves. But if the Knicks are smart, they would try to play off of Randle, and it’s not easy getting good value for that $20 million salary. |

So far this season his shooting % are lows all across the board.
He chose money over winning, culture and development |
