didn't watch the game, but just looking at the box score, how was danny green only 1 of 4 and played only 21 minutes? He didn't get injured did he? Foul trouble??

Refs were calling BS calls against him all night

As pay back for last game

Refs were awful all game. They were trying mercilessly to vault Murray on par with our guys.

He left the floor for the locker room in the fourth quarter. Only update was that he had a lower right leg injury. The non-specific update worries me.

Dwight was freaking awesome. Wow.

Props to KCP.

We're the best team in the league.

Dwight really looked like prime Orlando Magic defensive Dwight Howard tonight. What a performance from him.

that one post up he had in the 4th and finish with the little left semi hook.....that caused flashbacks because it feels like I have seen him do that same little shot a million times with the Magic earlier in his career. That was like his first non dunk go to move in the NBA if I recall.

I'm interested in player psychology (which is why I like Coach Jackson and
the Triangle).

So I wonder what the back story might be for Howard's performance so far.

Is he doing it alone . . . or have the Lakers teamed him up with some other player
that's keeping him between the lines (?)

Did anyone see those fans on the baseline jawing at Dwight late in the 4th? Looked like he did not really respond and just informed the referee....if so, probably a sign of maturity.

Dwight has been amazing for us. I dont get the reasoning for starting Javale over Dwight...Dwight has proven game after game he is worthy of starting. Sets fantastic screens, putbacks, cleans the boards and plays fantastic defense.

It could be as simple as the following: he was smart enough to realize that this was truly his absolute last chance in the NBA. That he was about to get Carmelo Anthony'd out of the league. That another transgression that constituted off-the-court baggage was going to result in teams just feeling that it wasn't worth the effort.

Whatever it is, dude is locked in and has bought in.

maybe they are viewing it as "if it ain't broken....." to start the season....maybe they are not sure Dwight gives the same energy or is more prone to adopt old habits if he is starting?

exactly

good enough to close but not good enough to start instead of javale? doesn't make any sense

unless vogel is thinking that dwight might let it get to his head or something

By seasons end, I have a feeling Dwight will be more valuable than Kuzma. Before the season started, I would have never thought that.

I don't remember Dwight having a performance that vital in his entire first stint with the Lakers. The level he's playing at right now is just astounding, and we shouldn't expect it to last.

Right now I’m just hoping Kuzma makes it a competition. Howard has looked really good. Kuzma has not. But two games into preseason Howard looked terrible, and Kuzma is basically going through preseason right now, so hopefully things even out as Kuzma shakes the rust off.

Could be..im not complaining but i feel these past few games us getting into double digit deficit early on has a lot to do with javale doing questionable decisions on the defensive end. I feel with dwight you actually get a sigh of relief because he is still an elite defensive anchor.
