Nats bullpen not the best but their starting pitching will make it interesting.

With the way that Anibal Sanchez has pitched, I think you could see the Nats be willing to use Corbin in relief in Game 1, Game 2, or even both. If it pushes him back to a Game 4 start instead of Game 3, I think the Nats can live with that. Just a guess on my part.

Yea I could see that. They showed in dodgers series they aren’t afraid to put a starter in relief. For them to have a shot they have to hit with runners on. Yankees have had chances but can’t get clutch hits. Nats been living on clutch hits so should be a good series.

Nats vs Astros

2 great starting pitching staffs. Should be a better series than people will think.

The Yankees are like a horror movie villain. I'll believe they're dead when I see a stake in their hearts. The story of this series has been the Yankees' poor hitting with men on base. Just a couple singles at the right time could have changed this series dramatically. I won't be surprised a bit if the Yankees come roaring back.

Except this version of the Yankees is not that old version of the Yankees of the late 90's, early 2000's. Astros will probably finish them off in game 5.

Nope, no comeback....not your dynasty Yankees of the 90's....team looks great on paper but they aren't there yet.

Yeah, but our guys couldn't walk off given the opportunity. They did.

Astros biggest World Series favorites since 2007

Quote:
Caesars Sportsbook on Sunday opened the Astros as -235 favorites to beat the Nationals in the best-of-seven series. The Nationals are listed as +195 underdogs.

I really don't know what to expect from this series. The Nats are playing at a higher level than they did during the regular season. I understand why we're heavy favorites, but the Lakers were heavy favorites against the Pistons, too.

I think it will be a closer series than what is predicted but Astros will probably prevail.

Dodgers hitters were struggling and flailing at garbage...Even worse with Cardinals. Astros offense will punish the Nats.

I tend to agree, but I think the Nationals have more than a punchers chance in the series. Maybe catch Verlander on one of his off nights and Greinke continued to struggle this offseason. It is narrow, but I think there is a path.

For what it's worth, Verlander has been awful in the WS in his career. 4 starts with a 5.72 ERA.

Isn’t that number inflated by Pablo Sandoval’s 3 hr game though? Sure he hasn’t been his usual self and has yet to get a WS win but I still wouldn’t wanna face him.

For sure, I wouldnt want to face him either. Just saying he hasn't been lights out in the WS. I was wrong earlier, he has had 5 starts not 4. Aside from that Sandoal game he's been average to awful for the most part. Darn near playoff Clayton-esqgee.

Whoa. Any reasons why you think they'll pull off the upset? Is it the whole peaking/scorching at the right time?
