Just starting this thread up in advance of Zion becoming a Laker in 2026.

The kid is 280 pounds and has the body control of a young Kobe. And with the touch of Kyrie Irving around the rim!

Honestly, before the draft I thought he was Zach Randolph flying but now he looks like a cross between young LeBron and prime Blake Griffin... this kid looks legit

I've been really impressed with his ball-handling. So quick off the dribble for a guy that big.

Dude, he's impressive. I've never seen a 280 lb dude that could like he's floating in the air. I mean isn't his athleticism and movement responsible for those easy feeders? It's like saying Shaq only dunks, chippies or put-backs. If Elden could do dunks and chippies to the tune of 30 a night, we may not have chased after Shaq. BI ain't the one with the easy feeders because we all know it's a quite a chore for him to manufacture points.

Just think about it, these are the types of gimmies he can get without a polished half court game. Imagine when he does have a polished half court, along with the natural gimmies he gets just due to sheer athleticism.

Not to mention that he's a legit passer who can leverage his gravity into high percentage looks for his teammates.

The defense has been a bit lackluster and something he's got to work on, so he is human. He can't get away with freelancing like he did in college.

He looks like he’s on Fast Forward out there. Just a different speed than the other players.

I imagine this is what it was like watching Jordan hit the league in '84-85. Joe Ingles is out there like Danny Ainge 35 years ago thinking, "Am I playing the right sport?"

I would imagine him being more like the second coming of Shawn Kemp without the jumpshot.

Shawn Kemp was a beast in Seattle but I don't remember people bouncing off of him like they do Zion

That's the point isn't it? He's able to create all of those.

He's legit playing guard-actions and shooting a ridiculous TS% with arguably the best finishing in the paint outside of dunks, in the game.

Zion and Favors are going to lay some bruises this season.

Kemp was also mostly limited to straight-line drives and spin moves. He was definitely advanced for a big man of his era in his ability to bring the rock up in the open court, but Zion has a guard handle and passing touch/vision Kemp could only dream of.
