One of the funniest stand up specials in the last couple years. This dude is a master of his craft. Anyone offended shouldn't be watching R rated comedy specials

My bad. Meant Katt Williams I stopped watching him. See, I even forgot his name. I wonder if Damon caught Money Mike

Your index card for that guy's name is expired, throw it away. He's Yusuf Islam now.

Finally finished it. I loved it.

My favorite comedian of all time so maybe I’m biased.

I said it before but ... I do think the critics are essentially required to come out against it for the sake of their careers.

There may have been more articles written about this now than there are negative reviews of the special. Has anyone bothered to look at how many negative reviews it has received on the Tomato Meter? 10. 10 people. They could all fit in a van. Among the ten, outlets include something called Movie Nation, Entertainment Voice, and Ian Thomas Malone from a website called Ian Thomas Malone. Curiously, one of the negative reviews comes from the National Review. Tough beat for double posted conspiracy theories. 3 people have given it a positive review, plus one I found from NBC News (noted conservative rag) that isn't included in the Tomato score. I don't believe any of these people have been fired.

If you've been wondering how angry, middle-aged, white, males feel about our modern society, this is the act for you!

I turned it off after maybe 5 minutes, when he said Michelle Obama is only noteworthy because of who she has sex with and has no ideas of her own.

I just watched Wanda Sykes I'ma Be Me on HBO. It caused me to have muscle spasms. It was funny.

I listen to Bill Burr’s podcast every now and then. It’s pretty funny. I dont get what all the drama around these guys are.

They’re comedians. That’s it. You can like their art or not. No big deal.

Just watched it.

There were some truly funny moments. The suicide bit was funny, as was some of the Michael Jackson stuff. The LGBT bit was slow and just wasn't funny and killed the momentum of the show. He finished it off nicely with the poverty bit.

In case you don't know, there's a hidden epilogue after the credits.

(bleep) ing Brilliant. Dave can tell a story, catch you off guard and make the most profound points, all the while being funny as hell.

This special wasn't as funny as others, but it was just a good and better in some respects. He's closest thing we have to a modern day Lenny Bruce.

What a mind.

My daughter saw the later show, right after that gal freaked in SF. She said it was very different show (she just recently saw him in Berlin) as Dave was somewhat shook and had to get his bearings a bit.

isn't this kinda why some people turned off Dave Chapelle?

That’s Bill Burr’s schtick. That’s, part of his comedy routine.

A significant portion of the population just needs to be avoid comedy altogether. Its for the best.

My fav stand up routine of all time.

Banishment level in today’s standards but whatever. It’s still hilarious and I know a lot of the jokes from that special off the top of my head.

It's one of my favorites too.
Speaking to the audience at that time is the key to successful standup. I don't think it's anything to fret about that tastes have changed.

Kinda like music. Older rappers complain about hip hop nowadays. But the genre is still alive, it just passed them by. Adapt or die. And I think Dave did a good job doing that. His most recent standup isn't as funny as past ones IMO, but he still did a great job.

True, but with art I’ve always felt we should expand what can be said, not restrict. But I get it that sometimes, perhaps, things go too far and we have to dial it back just a bit.

I think this Chappelle set is particularly interesting because it's a dude getting older navigating the young world order and having a confused laugh at everything - the old way, the new way, and himself. Dave represents power now because of his fame, his money, and his talent despite the color of his skin and how he grew up, and there's a broad cultural resentment against any figure with power who isn't in lockstep with the liberal zeitgeist. But Dave Chappelle never had the power to change anything in society anyway and he certainly doesn't now.

I also sense that Chappelle is engaging in a protracted comedic bit vis-a-vis the trans community that will pay off in future years. It is exploitative at its core, but when accumulated won't be directly transphobic. We'll see.

I loved it. Not as good as Dave's special, but between the two I've gotten a healthy alternative for all the PC bs I see these days.
