of course none of these players ever played with each other (or not yet) but who do you think would be a more dominant two-way duo? overwhelmingly i think kobe/t-mac but i'm biased. anyone have any interesting thoughts?

What about something like prime Kobe/Grant Hill?

Or dare I say, Kobe/LBJ?

Kawhi moves like Redd Foxx and Paul is a career second fiddle... Come on now.

Serious question?

Kobe and T-Mac would make those two look like Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker combo at best. It wouldn't even be a fight.

It's a shame we never got to see West complete that deal for T-Mac in the draft and have the best big 3 of all time (Kobe, Shaq and McGrady). That's just nuts to even fantasize about.

Why you gotta remind me of what never was. My two favorite players all time on teams?! Heartbreaking ODB didn’t sign off.

Kobe > Tmac > Kawhi > PG

In primes that's how it shakes out. Kobe and Mac destroy those 2

It would have been interesting to see if Jerry Buss would have paid for all 3 of them... and wonder how McGrady's career might've been.

I always wondered what it would have been like if the Lakers pulled off the Eddie Jones-Mitch Richmond trade, then flipped him for Chris Webber like it ended up happening with Elden Campbell replacing Otis Thorpe in the original deal. A Shaq-Webber-Kobe trio with Phil as coach? Dang that would have been sweet to watch.

Yeah, don't have to think twice about this one.

Kobe >TMac > Kahwi > George

as stated earlier by the current year.

Kawhi is great for today's NBA and a proven winner, but PG13 is not at that level. With that said, even with as good as Kawhi is, he's no where near the level Tmac was nevermind Kobe.

I’m a little surprised that so many people have such a high opinion of McGrady.

The better question is Kobe & PG vs Kawhi & TMAC.

There’s nothing he couldn’t do offensively

mcg has definitely enjoyed some overhypedness since he stopped playing. he was good, very good, but comparing him with kobe is sort of nonsense. if not for kobe, his reputation would not be so high right now. people LOVE to use tmac in kobe arguments because they are desparate to point how how kobe wasnt actually so good, there were guys as good or better. that's usually how he is used. if not for that specific point, his reputation would be a lot more appropriate today.

he's a great player, but unfortunately he had injuries and not-his-fault team situations where he just was not able to show in his career that he had the kind of special ability like kobe.

theres a great game between the two...they both do well, but kobe really destroys him in the end and it kind of captures the whole point.

btw...tmac and kobe on a team today would destroy anything out there.

I remember that game. Kobe’s Definitely the superior player but offensively I don’t see any real weaknesses when it comes to McGrady.
And you’re right about them owning the league if they played together today.

Any pairing with prime Kobe would win.

It's borderline disrespectful to put the rest of them in the same category as him.

A rookie TMac was almost traded here for Eddie Jones before Del Harris nixed the deal and told West to go after broke down Glen Rice instead.
