Coach Agler has been replaced by Derek Fisher; Candace Parker has a hamstring injury; Nneka's little sister is on the team now. Essence Carson and Jantel Lavendar are gone; Alana Beard is injured and the center, Vadeeva is stuck in Russia with "team obligations".

Last night's game against the Connecticut Sun was awful; neither team could shoot and both squads turned the ball over a lot. Some immediate concerns: Sparks can't rebound and the passing is terrible with way too many ISOs by the guards. They're going to get killed by teams with good centers like Vegas, Seattle, and Phoenix.

Overall, this team got worse. Let's hope Fish can do a better job.

I love Kalani Brown. Was surprised she fell to the 7th pick. She needs to get in better shape to play at the pro level--she got outhustled for a few boards by the Sun's backup big--but I think she's going to be a force eventually.

I thought the team could've used some more shooting but they have a pretty formidable squad once everybody's available. There isn't really any way to cover for the absence of an incredible player like Candace. Hopefully she gets healthy soon.

Sparks win, beating the NY Liberty in a close game; the difference was Chelsea, the Gray-Mamba with several clutch shots in the closing minutes; it's great to have a cold-blooded closer. Finally paid attention to the rookie center, Kalani Brown; she's active, works hard on defense, and she's got the size to challenge shots. Still, the Sparks need another rebounder in the starting line-up. It might be a good idea to start Kalani at center and move Chiney to the bench.

Nice win Sparks! (I’m not even sure that game was live, I turned on the TV and the 4th quarter was on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But whenever this happened we won yay lol)

They definitely needed Candace. Wouldn't this also belong in Lakers talk? Being that it's essentially our WNBA affiliate team?

Candace is back and I don't just mean...she's on the floor; she's showing signs of her old self the last 2 games and the Sparks are so much better when Candace is Candace.

In addition, the Russian center Vadeeva has returned and she's pretty awesome. She's a 20 yr old with fairly agile feet, a good mid-range shot, and she tries on defense. Sparks should lock her up long-term.

The Gray mamba is also peaking at the right time. Her no-look passes are a thing of beauty and she's a player who doesn't need to score to help the team. Basically, the entire team is clicking at just the right time.

They could go far if Candace can maintain her play.

A tale of two cities when the Sparks go on the road. They're almost unbeatable at home but on the road, they struggle with outside shooting, making lay-ups and covering 3 pt shooters.

My advice to Coach Fisher: Riquana is very similar to KCP. If she's cold in the first quarter, just take her out and sub in Beard or Williams. Also, Wiese is way too passive; you should play Mabrey more than Wiese. When the outside shots aren't going in, feed the post. Yesterday, they fed Vadeeza in the post exactly once. Come on. It kills me that Fisher is using Vadeeza to "spread the floor" and set screens instead of killing the opposing team in the post, which is her greatest strength. So much Luke Walton in Fisher's coaching style.

I don't see them beating the Mystics on the road and they better get home court against Vegas or they'll probably lose in the 1st round.

Congrats to the Sparks for making it to the semis, beating Seattle with some terrific defense. They've been very dominant at home but have struggled on the road. They face Connecticut on the road on Tuesday.

Keys to Tuesday's game: Make your open 3s, play with energy, and don't be afraid to play the bench. Chiney should get more time, especially if Candace doesn't look spry on Tuesday.

The Sparks wasted a very good game from both Nneka and Candace in game 1; the back court of Gray and Williams was shut down. For some reason, the outside shooting on the road has been lousy this season. All they need to do is win 1 game on the road, but they've struggled all season.

The energy was down; they rotated too slowly. Fish didn't draw up plays for Gray to get open and he played Williams about 15 minutes too much. When Williams isn't hitting her shots, you need to take her out and sub in Beard or TRP because Williams' biggest contribution is her streaky outside shooting and if she's not making the 3s, she's not helping the team.

Candace was spry in game 1, but if she hasn't recovered by tomorrow, Fish should give Chiney and Vadeeza a lot more minutes.

I know it’s been a challenging season with injuries to the main players and what have you. That said I will be extraordinarily disappointed if we can’t just win one game in this playoff series.
