For those who say that the Lakers should have known KL was not coming:

Danny Green, on a conference call with reporters, said he "checked in with (Kawhi Leonard) all the time" during the moratorium and still had no clue what Kawhi was going to do. He said the Paul George trade came as a complete surprise to him.
Lakers has no choice but to wait. From what I know, Klutch and Lebron were fairly confident that Kawhi was coming. Even if the Lakers had doubts, if they moved on before Lebron and Klutch heard differently, Klutch and everyone else would have been looking side eye at the Lakers for moving on too early and giving Kawhi no choice. Lakers did the best they could, and pivoted well under the circumstances. Now we just have to hope AD and Lebron stay healthy all season; if so, our chances of winning a ring this season are pretty good, IMO.
First of all OKC is not buying CP3 our, we can put that into bed
Second, unless there are two balls, Russ and harden is probably the worst combination
The thunder are not going to pay this:
2019-20 Contract details by year 34 $38,506,482
2020-21 Contract details by year 35 $41,358,814
2021-22 Contract details by year 36 $44,211,146
$44 Mill for a 36 yr old player on a rebuilding team? don't see it
CP3 will not give up those money either. OKC was going to pay for Russ either way.
The buyout will have to be a historic figure, I don’t see it
I would love CP3 on this team, but even if he did get bought out, I doubt he comes here. We’ve got way too many PGs, including one Rajon Rondo lol
Lebron wont care.
Banana boat xD
If bought out, 100% he goes to Clippers not Lakers....
OKC should send him to NYK for Jules and Portis - they desperately a name brand...
Why would he go back to the Clippers?
When he had issues with Doc, hated the culture over there, wanted to leave.
Has a connection with LBJ,
the choice is pretty obv not being a homer, LBJ and & CP3 bffffffffff
Clippers did him a solid with the sign and trade to a contender
Blake is long gone
KL and PG super-teamed
Pat Beverly and Lou Will can cover his azz for most of the regular season and playoffs when he fizzles but still gets to start
Rondo is a Laker
Trade fiasco with Gasol/Odom. I recall there being something anti Laker with him at the time...
Was a Clipper and stuck it to Lakers every chance he got so probably hates them now.
Jerry West influence and assurance of deep pockets with Balmer.
Clippers still have the 4.8M exception, Lakers do not.
Lastly, he's not the brightest bulb in the lamp, so if he will do a buyout of 124M guaranteed and lose like 60M, then he is probably dumb enough to latch on to one of the reasons above...
He went on to say: "We saw the moves the Lakers [and] Clippers made, we weren't gonna stand around and not do anything to keep up with our competition. We got word that [Westbrook] was available for trade and we jumped on it."
How does Morey continue to move albatross contracts? This is insane. Ryan Anderson at $20 million. Chris Paul at $40 million. Unreal. These idiot GM’s continue to bail out his failures time and time again.
Morey traded CP3 for an arguably worse contract and gave up picks to do so.
I'm not sure being forced to wait actually injured the Lakers. They didn't saddle themselves with albatross contracts and ended up with a pretty deep, even if flawed, roster. We're going for the title this year, but I would look at the roster construction as a two year plan. That much at least was necessitated by missing out on Kawhi while giving up so much for Davis.
Thunder with 8 extra picks through 2026 and a ton of pick swaps might of just had the best summer of any team
If your idea of best summer is a terrible team with cheap ownership and a bunch of picks
Then yea...
They weren't going to win anyway, at least now they gave themselves a shot at something special in few years either through future trades or just using their picks.
I'm not sure if we're allowed to post RDA or not, but

OKC is now AGGRESIVLY attempting to find a landing place for Chris Paul. Their first plan was to have Westbrook sent to Rockets via 3 team trade. They do NOT plan on playing him this year and will likely agree to a buyout if unable to find a trade.
We all know he is full of ****. Why would you want to post him?
Is he? Did the mods already ban posts about him?
RDA is full of crap. This post basically proves it (if his crap about Kawhi didn’t already prove it for you). There’s NO WAY CP3 gets bought out. He’s not giving up enough money to make it worth it to the Thunder, period. The Thunder have no interest in having his massive cap holds sit on their salary cap for zero value back too, or in giving CP3 over a hundred million to go play on another team, I’m sure.
Since Thunder are in stock-piling picks mode, you guys think we can get Andre Roberson for a future 2nd? We would have someone that can guard Kawhi/Harden ..etc.
I would love CP3 on this team, but even if he did get bought out, I doubt he comes here. We’ve got way too many PGs, including one Rajon Rondo lol

Did him a solid LOL,
AD/LBJ super teamed omg
Doesn't matter same could be said with bradley/green lol
ANTI LAKER HAHAHAHAHA dude do you forget the NBA vetoed the trade,
CP3 literally was so mad about not being a Laker, he even tried to sue the League.
What's he suppose to do not try to win while he was on the Clippers haha?
Doesn't matter how deep Balmers pockets are there's a salary cap my friend.
4.8>2.5 Wouldn't really matter not that much of diff TBH.
I think you're really under estimating LBJ, and their friendship.
If he had to choose between the Lakers and the Clippers guarantee you he would choose the Lakers. _________________
