I think
Bradley

Are all capable of being above average defenders. Defense i's a hard thing to quantify in basketball. |

Has Bradley ever played with a dominating shot blocker? We have 3 in Azd, McGee, and Cousins. Will free him up to be really aggressive. Same with Green _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

AD - Positive (DPOY level defender)
Green - Positive (has been a very solid defender in the past)
McGee - Neutral (solid in vertical rim protection, but poor in other areas)
Caruso - Neutral (could be positive, need more evidence)
KCP - Neutral (positive on ball, negative off ball)
Bradley - Neutral (becomes a liability is switch defenses)
Lebron - Negative (I know he could be neutral, but dude just quit giving effort)
Kuzma - Negative (but not terrible on ball)
Cousins - Negative (but to what degree will be determined by how much athleticism is back this year)
Daniels - Negative (very poor)
Dudley - Negative (overall a negative, but he is hard to move in push offs, etc.)
Cook - Negative (very poor)
Rondo - Negative (only slightly better than Cook and Daniels) |

I think the crazy thing about this team is that boogie, Davis, lebron, Kuzma...it really doesn’t matter who gets the rebound they can bring the ball up and start the break. Hopefully we utilize that _________________ “like I never left”

It will be interesting to see what Frank has in store. Our perimeter D looks like it will be good (on paper). AD is obviously elite and I think people our sleeping on the defensive abilities of Bradley and Green. Also, I know many don't like KCP (and his Bball IQ), but he is a good defensive player when he is engaged.
I think our rebounding will improve dramatically which is HUGE. Our rebounding was HORRENDOUS last season on both sides of the ball. We will cutting down on the defensive rebounding allowed (and 2nd chance points). Likewise, we should grab more offensive rebounds and increase our 2nd chance points scored. I do not see us running much TBH. |

I am not going to argue with the above.
Expect to finish in the middle on team defense. |

We will be playing the majority of games with twin towers on the court. Our defense is going to force a lot of long jumpers, especially mid range imo. AD, boogie, javale. I really expect to have one of the better defenses in the NBA.
Like the above poster said AD makes perimeter defense a lot easier for our guards.
This team reminds me of the Kobe, gasol, Bynum, Odom team but on steroids.

I'd say Akindo's rankings reflect best what I've seen from each of these players, top to bottom, my only difference is I'd rank AC above neutral.
I don't agree with those who put a negative by Caruso. He's a scrappy defender and way underrated by some IMO. I wouldn't rank him AD level good, but he's an asset on defense, not a liability.
Overall team defense is going to have some challenges, I believe. I'm curious what Vogel and his team develop as a defensive scheme using the players we have. With AD and LeBron at forward spots, and McGee or Cousins at center, size wise that is a lot like Bynum/Gasol/Odom. |
