THT and Norvell jr. out of a draft where we had zero picks is a freaking home run.
I agree....but still think a grand slam was possible with the UDFA market...there were a couple guys they would have had an honest shot at the roster.
Which players did you want?
The problem is certain teams were offering contracts with guarantees to players they coveted. Also quite a few 2-ways were handed out and so far it appears the Lakers are preserving one of their 2-way allotment.

if I am being honest, the first thing is I do not offer a 2 way to Zach Norvell Jr., but that is more of a philosophy matter. I am not opposed to Zach Norvell Jr....I would even be ok if he earned his way onto the roster, but I would use the 2 way slots for guys with much more upside....younger, less developed, more athletic guys. I think it is a golden opportunity that if managed properly, you may find a diamond while you likely strike out 9 out of 10 times....but where do you get that type of opportunity to have control over a young player for a couple years for that cheap? I think guys like Lu Dort and even THT are perfect for 2 way contracts. The Lakers FO seems to view it differently as they continue to put older low upside type players on them.
Wings, Wings, Wings! We do not have any Wings on our current roster....guys like Terence Davis, Aubrey Dawkins, VJ King, DaQuan Jeffries, Tyus Battle would have each been a great pickup. Davis and Jeffries likely make the roster.
Jeffries and Konchar were the cream of the crop, Ponds too. Davis' said he won't sign a 2 way he's betting on himself. And the other 3 simply chose other places. After that Norvell is the best imo. like 4th or 5th of all undrafted to me.

ya there’s no way to know what went into these things - entirely possible we offered 2 ways to a bunch of these guys and norvell said yes first while the others chose elsewhere. all we can judge on is if the guy we got has talent, and norvell has plenty of talent - he will be on the full squad within a year or two imo. getting THT and norvell as young guys really helps mitigate the sting of losing our young core as now we have our own promising young “homegrown” talent which looked like we weren’t going to have entering draft night. _________________ substance over style

KIROE...what do you think of Aric Holman?
How does a kid with a stroke like that and body to match go undrafted?
For starting the day with no draft picks...THT, Holdman, Norvell look like draftable players to me...Holdman as a late 1st in my completely uneducated mind. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

I really didn't see much of Holman. But I think he's just a case of tools vs actually good basketball player.
here's a podcast scouting report on Holman, I'm sure it's really in depth, I'm going to listen to it myself right now.

great....really was interested in him last year when he went undrafted. Shot 42% from 3 over a 4 year career @ Purdue....47% from 3 as a Senior on 6 attempts per game. He was a pure sniper!

Sags Konate is another....we signed that one small center...rather have signed Sags because we at least know he is an elite shot blocker. If I am his agent...I look at the Lakers roster with 1 Center who has claimed to prefer to play PF in the past, and that is where I am sending my guy if it is an option.

I can’t believe Ponds went undrafted. Kid is a baller. And signing with Houston? We must not have given him an offer. He would’ve made the team. _________________ We pour this booze and we drink this booze because we think it's yummy. YUMMY! So over the tounge and down the throat to party in our tummys.

I hate to say this, but I had no idea he re-tore his ACL. This was completely new news to me yesterday.
Oh!
Me neither
Porter? If you think he will get healthy again, use a 2 way on him. It is cheap and you can oversee his rehab....then he is a RFA next summer. If healthy, sign a 3 year minimum contract with 4th year team option....if not, just let him go.
Tacko Fall, a 7-foot-6 center from UCF, will sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Boston Celtics, a source told ESPN's Jonathan Givony.
Exhibit 10 contracts, introduced in the NBA's most recent collective bargaining agreement, are one-year deals paying the minimum salary. They also can be used for two-way contracts.
Fall was not selected Thursday night during the NBA draft.
